Insomnia Gets Me in Trouble!

When I can't sleep, I wander downstairs and start window shopping online quilt sites. Honest to Pete, I don't even remember ordering this!!

Does anyone do any of the quilt clubs at www.janpatekquilts.com? I got a big box of stuff today - beautiful stuff!

It seems I signed up for the Quilt of the Quarter Club. The quilt is Pumpkins, Turkeys & Geese. It's a great quilt.

Then apparently I signed up for Linda's Club, and received the Apple Basket kit. I like this one, too.

But what had me stumped was a huge bag of scraps. OMG, what else did I sign up for? Turns out I got these for being a new club member. Great scraps. Big, usable Moda pieces. These will definitely get used in my prim projects next year.

I really have to start sleeping the night through!

Another surprise in the mail today was a letter from Southwest Airlines. They apologized for the inconvenience on our flight back from retreat. They said it was due to a "prank phone call." Anyway, there was a voucher for $100 good until 11/13/07. So Jane and I each get $100 off our retreat flight next year! We were seriously considering driving up, but this might sway our thinking in that regard. Surely lightning wouldn't strike twice! We surely wouldn't have another security problem next year! Hmmm, something to ponder!

This is going to be a busy, busy short week at work. So tomorrow is hump day! :)

This weekend is shopping for a camera! I'm lost without it. I'm going to look for a new printer, too. This one was real expensive, but is about four years old and is driving me nuts. I can probably get a similar one for half price now!

Hi sweetie!
I do the Jan Patek FQ club and the fabrics are always really nice. I used to be in her wallhanging club too, but I wasn't keeping up so I 'paused' that membership. Ha, those scraps sound tantalizing!!!
Good deal on the airline voucher!!

Amazing what we do in the wee small hours! I have been known to come downstairs the next morning and make noises about someone fiddling with the current W.I.P.

Great news about the airline ticket.

I think you need to join pogo.com and start playing online solitaire and other games instead of spending money you don't remember... lol

What wonderful customer service from Southwest...I do Jan's quilt of the quarter also. Love this new one with the turkeys. That's a must for the list to have done for the fall.

Hi Vicky, sounds like you had a ball shopping while you were half asleep. I've gotten in trouble many times on Jan's website - I love her fabrics and her kits. I finally had to say "no more" because I'm sure I have at least 10 waiting for me to start some day. She just designs so much neat stuff that we quilters can't keep up! Have fun with your new things!

Re: your printer. My sister says for what ink cartridges cost, you can buy a new printer whenever you run out of ink. Hate what that says about our wasteful economy and society, but I know she's right.

Oh, I can't wait for you to get a new camera so you can share pictures of all your treasures - how exciting. It's fun to get into trouble sometimes - LOL.

Way to go SW Airlines!

How scary not to remember something you know you would be anticipating receiving. I would be frantic!

There should be some great deals this weekend so have fun shopping.

I'm glad I don't wake up in the middle of the night. I'm afraid of how much money I would spend. I spend enough when I'm awake.

Kudos for SW for customer service. I love it when I get great customer service, keeps me coming back.

I loved your story about the midnight shopping - too funny. The scraps sound amazing. Lovely to hear of good customer service too, that must have been a nice surprise.

glad they helped make it right-with a reasonable amount of time to use it in. I hear you on the insomnia-but I usually read or sew my way back to sleep-

Your story of middle of the night shopping rings a bell. At least you got a wonderful bag of scraps, and two clubs you like. =)
