I was so busy in my career at that time that I just didn't have to time to devote to learning how to quilt with templates, etc. Then in 2000, on a Monday holiday from work, I caught an episode of Simply Quilts - and they didn't use templates at all! That got me interested again.Vickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08230311970559999653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22312109.post-1146161041110697382006-04-27T11:04:00.000-07:002006-04-27T11:04:00.000-07:00I've heard this story before, but I'd like to know...I've heard this story before, but I'd like to know what took you into the Fabric Patch the first time? I have made one for my daughter in her colors and the one in my colors is on my bed right now. :o)

I'm not exactly sure when I started quilting. My grandmother always made quilts and I remember playing under the quilting frame as she, my mother and aunts were tieing quilts. I also have a childhood memory of my sister and I taking squares of newspaper and using them as foundation for crasy quilt blocks. I guess it has always just been a part of my life.tamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14869702375009787359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22312109.post-1146112682547989782006-04-26T21:38:00.000-07:002006-04-26T21:38:00.000-07:00I was into photography and had seen some memory qu...I was into photography and had seen some memory quilts done using family photographs. I'd never sewn, didn't own a machine but decided I was going to try and quilt.

Funny thing - I've never made a memory quilt using photographs in the 5+ years I've been quilting but I have used photos on labels. Also since I started quilting my Mom, 3 sisters, 2 aunts, and 2 cousins, and a niece in law have started quilting too - not bad for someone who didn't even know how to sew.Mary Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07801947879882584734noreply@blogger.com
