Sewing Tired

This is why I don't sew when I'm tired. A LOT of HST. Drew a line down the center, and sewed 1/4" on one side of that line. Turned the blocks around and proceeded to sew right down the center penciled line. Oops! I got the seam ripper and was just about to start taking that center line stitching out when I occurred to me that I didn't have to. Those would be cut apart on that line. So back to the sewing machine to sew 1/4" down the other side of the center line.

I think that's as far as I'm going tonight. Not an hour of sewing. 25 minutes of doing the oops-dance! I'm going to bed!

  3. I'm glad you didn't spend all that unsewing!

The verification letter-jumble for this post is hfdkfpba... and that sounds JUST like what I mutter when I discover some unsewing that needs to be done... lol

Anyone else feel like these verfication words are good practice in touch typing? :)

  4. I've done that too. That's why I generally don't sew during the week. I'm too tired when I get home from work.

  7. I've done the very same thing...only it took me ripping out that center stitching several times before the light bulb went on...that's what makes sewing late in the evening a challenge for me.

  8. good you didn't unsew a lot before realizing it was unnecessary :-) Hope the sleep helped...

  9. Good idea! Mistakes in a row mean it's time to stop and rest. If you don't then worse accidents happen - especially if you are using a rotary cutter. (I know this first hand!)

  11. You gotta know when it's time to quit. Lol. We all have to learn that by experience I guess. I'm not sure I have completely learned that lesson yet.

  12. sometimes it goes like that and best to just give it up for the night. Wish I had heeded that advice when cooking last night.

  13. I make those kinds of mistakes even when I'm not tired!

If I were working at a high stress job all day like you are, I'd probably never even sew. You're doing good!

  14. Good for you Vicky for recognizing the best action was "no more sewing". I'm sure the sleep was just what you needed..*VBS* Hugs, Finn

  15. When I get to the point I spend more time unsewing than sewing I have to quit. Don't know if I would have realized as quickly as you that the center seam did not have to be unsewed.

  16. It's almost hilarious when we are tired and try to sew! It just goes from bad to worse to hilariously horrid!
