Stash Report Week 24

Seriously - my stash reporting is a joke.

I have bundled up 5.25 yards to give to a friend who is making a quilt out of that particular fabric. That's it for stashbusting. I guess that's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Except for the Prairie Paisley borders I did a few weeks back, I haven't done any sewing at all. Since Daisy first got sick. I'm behind on deadlines, behind on BOMs. I guess I'll catch up eventually, but it's not happening now. Have I run out of inspiration? Am I a wantabe quilter? Am I talking the talk but not walking the walk? Is it burn-out? I don't know.

Poked buttons twice this week on Glace yardage. I knew that was going to happen. I also have this kit ordered. The buttons I poked were for backings for two quilts, borders for one, and some of those tone-on-tones that work so well in my applique. When I do applique. Which hasn't been for like forever. Sigh.

Year-to-Date Totals:

Busted: 124.15 yards
Purchased: 369.125 yards
Net YTD: <244.375> yards

Nope, you are not burned out yet... You are still poking those little buttons and getting fabrics and kits and you are still thinking about quilting.

Now, when you don't buy any fabric - that's when we are going to worry about you!

You need a quilt show or a meeting with quilting friends where there is show and tell! That always gets my juices flowing. It will come!

Your headline is Stash Report (it doesn't say stashBUSTING LOL)....we love hearing about your newest acquisitions. You'll get your quilting mojo back, it's nice outside, you have a puppy to spoil (I mean train). Enjoy it! The quilting will wait.

I don't think you're burning out! I think you've just had too much going on in your life. I'd like to advise to just take a couple steps back and find just one project that captures your attention right then there. Could be something to be pieced or an applique project. Just relax and enjoy it all, Vicky!

I'm coming to visit for a long week end and we just sew the week end away. OK? :-) Call Jane to join us - can you imagine how fun that would be! I'll come - I'm just right over here - a hop, skip and jump away. Are you ready????

I wouldn't call your stashbusting a joke . . maybe call it entertainment for the rest of us! :) You're having fun and that's what matters!

i agree, you're definitely not burnt out, just focused in a different direction for a while.
Penny needs the time and attention that would normally go into your quilting, but the good news is that the fabric will wait patiently. puppies don't wait, so enjoy her to the max now.

(and be glad that you're getting the necessary fabric while it's still available!)

LOL I thought you were trying to buy the most fabric in a year from all the stashbusting ladies. Now just go and get in to the sewing room and see what appeals to you the most and just start it.

Just because your numbers are high, when I do the math you have used 33.63% of what you have purchased. I have only used 22.29% of what I have purchased. It all depends on how you look at it. Have a great week.

just think of it as you are getting all of the pieces together that you need for when you really start quilting again... that way you'll be ready... we all have those times! ...and i applaud you for still reporting and telling the world each week what you have added to your stash.. i don't think i'd have the guts to do it!
