Extra Special Give-Away

This one is hard to part with, but I know a lot of you all will be excited to get a chance to win it, especially if you're a Thimbleberries fan!

In 2008 RJR and Lynette Jensen of Thimbleberries fame released a "Celebrate 20/08" limited edition collection. This collection marked 20 fabulous years of Thimbleberries. There were only 4000 of these made. This box is Number 233 of the 4000.

The collection includes 242 Twice the Charms cuts of all Thimbleberries collections released in 2008, and it includes a Celebrate 20/08 commemorative lapel pin and 16 note cards. As you can see from the picture, Penny is checking it out and she likes it!

Also included is a numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by Lynette Jensen.

This is a real collector's item, folks. The reason I'm giving it away is because ... well, I don't know why except that I just want to share some of the nice things I have around here with others.

Don't forget the "lagniappe" prize if I find that something special I'm looking for in the winner's comments or on their blog. I'm not quite sure what the lagniappe prize will be at this time, but it'll be something good.

Just leave a comment here about how much you love Thimbleberries, or why you would like to win this collection, and you'll be entered in the drawing. Just be sure to leave a way for me to contact you, either a blog link or your email address. I'd sure hate to not be able to contact the winner!

The drawing will be held on Friday, 2/11/11, when I get home from work, which might be kind of late. But it'll happen next Friday night.

Good luck to everyone.

A collection of Thimbleberries Twice the Charm,
Could come to Missouri and live on my farm,
It could liven up this place - chase the blues away,
That came with all that snow that we got on Tuesday.
What a fabulous prize!

I sleep under my Thimbleberries quilt every night. Everything is Thimbleberries in it, except the thread and batting. :)

Don't you ever wish Penny could do some quilting?! Then you could come home and have discussions which fabric for the border would be best... "and while the machine is on Penny, can you sew these blocks together for me?"

Of course... she'd probably chew up anything she doesn't agree with. Yucky color? *chew, chew* Too dark for that quilt? *rip, rip* Has kitties in the fabric? *digs a hole to bury it*. Yeah, that Penny can be opinionated! ;)

are you absolutely SURE that you want to part with this particular collection of Thimbleberries?!? cuz it looks pretty doggone awesome to me ... but i am always a sucker for Certificates of Authenticity and lapel pins (that's why i go on the Rocky Mountain Quilt Fever Shop Hop - for the pin at the end) ... i'm just sayin'

If you want a "Penny for my thoughts"..this is the most fabulous giveaway ever!..I adore thimbleberries, I've done 4 thimbleberries quilts at our local quilt store and they are all amazing. The fabric is gorgeous and there is always ample yardage left over to make additional scrap projects. I had enough leftovers to complete Bunny Hill's Tisket Tasket which I posted on my blog and the thimbleberries looks amazing in it as well. Believe it or not, right now as I'm typing, I'm cozy'd up under a Thimbleberries scrap quilt. What can I say, I'm obsessed. I would love to win this amazing giveaway, how generous of you for sharing :)

This is a cool giveaway. I can't believe you're doing that!

My first true finished quilt is from a Thimbleberry book called "Birdhouse Row". I had made it for my Dad and I will never forget it.

I wouldn't mind having this because Thimbleberry fabrics are gorgeous and would be a wonderful memory to that first quilt if I should use them. It'd be hard to use up a collector's item! :-)

That's such a generous giveaway. I'm sorry work is causing you so much pressure but it's good your giving yourself a break. Quilting is supposed to be fun and not another job. I have to remind myself of that when I start to stress about it. P.S. Charm squares just happen to be my favorite cut of fabric and I love the Thimbleberries fabrics.

Oh my what a fabulous giveaway! I am a traditional quilter and as such I have loved Thimbleberries ever since I found Lynette Jensen. She is so creative and has such a keen sense of color. Thanks for sharing this with us. Give Miss Penny a scritch for me. She is such a cutie!

That lovely fabric will make someone a beautiful quilt! I belonged to Thimbleberries Club at a LQS in 2005. We made two lovely tops that year. Hugs to you and Penny

I live in SoCalif too and we are definitely spoiled with our weather. Lucky me, I live at the coast so we don't get hot here very often.

Some stitches are earmarked for you--I'm sewing tonight! Hope your blog break eases your stress!

That is one fantastic giveaway Vicky - you are so sweet and so giving. If I were to win this incredible collection, I would happily give this to my Mom as a way of saying Thank You for being the caring and giving person she is for providing a new home and life to her grandson who she took in recently because his father and mother don't want to care for him anymore. I will tell her that this came from a caring and giving person just like her. I hope I can surprise her with it when we visit in early March.

Your so generous to offer this as a giveaway, almost feel guilty for wanting it. Thanks so much for the opportunity.

Who knew that there was even such a treasure? Thimbleberries fabrics are just so lovely. And Webster says hi to Penny.

Allyson said...

Wow, I didn't even know they MADE such neat collector's items. When I think of Thimbleberries fabrics, the first thing that comes to mind is this sweet little black print with little mustard color star-like things on it. I just loved it and was excited to finally USE it and not just pet it from time to time when I walked into my quilt room. Would you know, I added it on as my border and binding, and was THREE inches short on my binding! I couldn't find a scrap of that fabric anywhere to save my soul. Finally I found some in a friend's stash. Everytime I see Thimbleberries, I think of that little stinker that was so hard to track down.

Thanks for a chance to win such a generous giveaway.

Hi Vicky! I'd LOVE to win the Thimbleberries commorative box! I've been a fan for years and years and have even attended the Thimbleberries retreat that Main Street Cotton Shop used to have every year in Minnesota. I am going to be totally honest here. Thimbleberries isn't a favorite of mine - I did don only of the clubs one year because of the cabin theme in it but I still haven't even had that one quilted. With that being said I can see that what you are giving away is amazing. You are so kind to part with such a limited item. My friend Sharon is a Thimbleberries freak - she LOVES anything & everything Thimbleberries. Sharon also doesn't read blogs therefore she would never enter this giveaway. With that being said I am entering on her behalf. If Sharon had this she would think I gave her the moon. Hey, we got to do what we got to do for our friends - right?

ok---Fabric companies now come out with new collections monthly---weekly even... I remember when Thimbleberries was the "Pinnacle" . Have you ever read Lynette Jensen's reason's for beginning to design fabrics? In the Northwoods (Where I have to call home) The rich colors brought our homes to life -- Winter is a long time. Whether they are used together or separately...those Thimblerries prints definitely stand the test of time. Throw my name in the bucket.

I've been looking for this and was so excited to see it here this morning! I worked in a quilt shop years ago that held TB club every third Sunday. I think this box came out when we were stationed overseas. Thank you so much for a chance!

I have never worked with this Thimbleberries design for the simple reason that we do not have "designer" fabrics here in Sri Lanka for quilters. We buy fabric by the metre or half metre but these are fabrics used for clothing. There is no separate fabric for quilters. We also do not have the jelly rolls, charm packs and layer cakes of which I am most envious of!!!! I have however won fabric in giveaways and for this I am eternally grateful!!!!

Thank you for sharing.

When I first jumped into the Quilting and Patchwork world...I know nuts about RJR, Riley Blake, Thimberberries....I only know of COTTONS...that I knew well....
Well Thimbleberries was first thought as Thimble, berries and tinkerbell (a combination of those, I guess)...dunno what made me think that...probably because they rhyme so well... Hence, that made me very curious about Thimbleberries - fabrics, books, designs...etc...

Now a year has gone by...and now I know...this is such a generous giveaway... and whoever the lucky winner is...she/he will be very happy indeed.... Am I the one? LOL! I do hope so....

Heart, heart Thimbleberries, and Lynette's fabric and patterns. Discovered Thimbleberries around 2002, on a quilt bus trip in MN. What a shock (a beautiful shock) to see such an array of beautiful fabrics and quilts displayed in small, but cute main-street town of Hutchinson, MN. Lynette Jensen's studio was located upstairs and we were able to see Lynette in person, view her studio and her staff working on designs. Thank you for your generous give away.

How generous of you to share this! I thought of you my Louisiana blogging friends last week. I drove to Baton Rouge to visit with my Dad. I bought 3 King Cakes to share with family. Yum:) It's hard to connect with Mardi Gras when living in a different culture. Take care! Hope that you are getting some sewing time or at least playing with fabric! Give Penny a hug:)

This is an amazing giveaway. I first fell in love with the Thimbleberries patterns because they remind me of the quilts my grandmother & mother made. Then I discovered the fabric and fell in love all over again.

Thimbleberries fabric and patterns were what I cut my quilting teeth on. Those were the quilts I haven't given away but instead enjoy myself.

I'm so glad to see that you would want the winner to use it, because it would be a shame to let it languish in the box (even if it is a collector's item). Thanks for the opportunity!

Wow--what a generous gift! I took a class from Lynnette Jensen a few years ago and she is a fun teacher! While I don't have many Thimbleberry fabrics, I am a fan.

Thanks!

Yikes! This is a generous gift! My fingers would love to touch this wonderful giveaway! I belong to my local Thimbleberries Club and drooled all the way home over this collection! I just couldn't afford it! I would love for a chance to win! Thank you so very much! Carol

My mother's 80th birthday is Feb 11th and she loves Thimbleberries fabrics yet is frugal with her purchases. Please please random number, pick my quilting mom to celebrate Thimbleberries' special anniversary! I collect tin boxes that look cool. Have repurposed Crabtree & Evelyn tin boxes for recipes, CD file, and a "memories" box. I especially like those with a hinged top that appear vintage. So, she gets the fabric and I get the box. LOL. Thanks for this lovely giveaway.

That is an awesome giveaway!!

Now, I truly thought about just doing a long and rambling comment, hitting on all sorts of topics just to see if I could hit on the one thing that you are looking for. I thought that might make you smile or even laugh a little. And after working so many hours and the audits and everything, I thought that you might need a little cheering up. But it's late now and I'm just a tad sleepy. And I just talked myself into actually cutting out another pair of pants or two. But Maisy got sick in the bed this morning and I still have to remake the bed and I am starting to wonder what quilts I will be able to use on the bed since the winter blanket is in the wash.

Oh well... That's about all I have tonight! lol

Wow, I'm so glad I found your blog. I have this new friend, who I met in kickboxing class, and she is learning to quilt. She has done plenty of sewing, mostly home dec stuff, but has never done quilting. I'm helping her learn (and shop!) which is so exciting -- a new quilter's enthusiasm always rubs off! Anyway, she got a Thimbleberries book for Christmas from one of her sisters, and she is starting with projects from the book. It's a big book, and I think she wants to make every project in it! I would love to win that box so I could share the treasures with her -- wouldn't that be a fun treat for a new quilter ?!? Thanks for the chance to win!

I do love Thimbleberries, she is a resident of Mn as am I. I have one of her first books and have done some things from it. This is a VERY nice give away Vicky. Hope I win it.

I have always liked Thimbleberries, but have very little. I've been getting into applique recently and think I'd use the lovely fabrics with some of the patterns I've collected. You are VERY generous!
