Making Progress

I started with the bottom boxes, and filled up the back of the QuiltMobile to the roof. Hauled it all over to Goodwill. Forgot to take a picture of the load, but, trust me, it was a lot. A TV, two VCRs, that sewing machine, books, a lot of them from college, household items, shoe racks, etc. Doesn't look like much is missing, but I feel really good about the two spots I worked on. And all this before noon!!!

I figure if I do this every weekend, or every two weekends, things will be orderly in -- well, in short order! And then I can get that commercial shelving out there for my fabric tubs!

Thanks for the encouragement!

That's alot of hauling. I'm going to do the same thing this spring because who wants to haul a bunch of stuff thru snow. I know you will feel better when you can get those shelves into the garage and filled with your tubs of fabrics. You've been working hard getting your sewing area cleared of things you no longer want or need.

I got the borders on the quilt top of the Kansas Trouble fabrics. It turned out really nice.

Way to go Vicky! That's a lot of work, but oh, it feels so good when you get done! Clapping for you!

pretty soon you'll have that garage so cleaned out that you'll be able to roller skate in there.

Good 4 You! I am fighting the stuff battle on the fabric front & with clothing/toys that my 2 boys are constantly outgrowing. I keep sewing to use up fabric (I had a lot of apparel fabric for pjs & Sweats for them) and taking donate stuff to goodwill. Progress sure feels good doesn't it! (Especially with more time quilting as the end prize!)

I am so glad you are making headway.Keep up the good work and in no time you will get things like you like them. I need to do the same thing so maybe you doing it will give me motivation to do the same thing.

Great job! You got started and that is the hardest part. I find that once I start getting rid of stuff, I want to get rid of more and more and more. I have been getting rid of stuff for awhile and it is nice to look around and see empty space. Very energizing!

Jan 2010 my aim was a black sack a day until my house was de- cluttered! I lasted about 3 weeks because family problems took over, but it didn't seem to make any difference to the Hugh collection of stuff. We just have to keep having a go every now and then. I have stopped buying for the house and no silly Xmas presents were purchased! So I feel I am moving forward.

I think you have the key. Don't spend too much time doing this or you will burn out. Do a couple of hours each week and it will get done fast enough. That's my approach to yard work.....no more than 1 hour a day. I get a little exercise and eventually the yard gets cleaned up.

Hi Vicky,

Yay!!!

I knew you could do it!

Isn't it a wonderful feeling to know that those items are now out of there? :-)

It's great that you got those items out of there and to somewhere that someone else can make use of them. The big bonus is you did something good for someone else and made room for things you love. Double woo hoo.

The internet is living proof ofthe blessings you just gave someone else. Others will love your donations. Good Job.

Way to go! And it didn't it feel good to drive away from Goodwill? Have a happy week!

way to go! You've made a big dent. Just keep adding those things you don't need/never will use to those totes. Clothes and shoes are hard--but if we haven't worn it in a year--its been going "in the box"
