After a long doctor's appointment yesterday, I have answers on the horrible back pain I've been having. I thought it was a simple (although painful) case of sciatica. Well, it seems I more than likely have two herniated discs. I say "more than likely," because that's what the doctor thinks from the plain x-rays he took yesterday. I have an MRI this morning. I'm dreading laying on the table for an hour and a half, but he needs to see exactly what's going on in there. I may be getting an injection on Thursday based on the MRI results. My doctor doesn't have much of a sense of humor. I told him yesterday I needed to have an "ectomy" or "otomy" of something to relieve the pain........ no smile, nothing. This guy needs to lighten up!

I'm sorry to hear that you're in such pain. It sounds awful. I am fortunate to have a doctor with an amazing sense of humor. We always wind up laughing about something when I see him. It makes such a difference.

Dang it! I knew there was a reason you'd hadn't blogged much lately. Get yourself fixed up so we can hear from you again on a regular basis! Any pain makes life miserable, hope you get to feeling better soon!

Vicky,

I feel your pain. I have an appt. with an ortho specialist the end of this month. I think I'll be laying on that table for the MRI too. I am sorry to hear about your disks. Mine is arthritis. Here I was thinking you were coughing too hard to type. I hope that is gone. Coughting when your back is messed up is no fun.

Sending prayers and hugs your way.

I have had two back surgeries and can feel your pain. Shots did not work for me but hopefully they will for you. My doctor and physician's assistant always have lots of humor.

I had a doctor with no sense of humor once. When in for a physical he asked if I had any health concerns. I told him I was troubled with constant headaches/migraines. He noted that I had large breasts and asked whether I had considered having a breast reduction. I told him I had not because my father didn't have large breasts and that he, too, had headaches and migraines. The doctor showed no reaction to this information. I never went back.

Ugh, my back has been acting up a bit but yours sounds much more limiting and distracting! Hope the cause is sorted out with the MRI and injections work.

Oh, Vicky, I'm so sorry you're having so much back pain. {{{{HUGS}}}}
Don't you hate it when a doctor doesn't have a sense of humor? too sad for THEM, and what they miss out on because of that. Eve in GA

HUGS to you!! Let that little pup cuddle up with you and take care of you in her way. Max likes to stay close when I am not feeling great.

How are other things going? I hope that the renovations are going well and not causing extra stress!!!!

Do you know any more? Do you need me to come out there and help take care of you? I would!

Glad that you're getting answers and hopefully solutions soon!

It's too bad your doctor doesn't get your sense of humour but if he only got one gift, I'd rather for your sake that it's medicine. :-)
