A Reminder
Just wanted to remind everyone to check your bank accounts often. I checked mine today and found three days' worth of fraudulent charges to my account. The bank was very nice and immediately credited back the amount that was fraudulent. They've cancelled my ATM card and will be issuing a new one. What a hassle!
I'm still limping around. I was off most of last week because I couldn't sit and could barely walk. It's better this week but still have a long way to go. I did postpone the surgery scheduled for next week. It was too soon. I need to wrap my head around this before proceeding.
The good news in all of this is that I finally caved in and hired a cleaning service. They start tomorrow. Boy, do they have their work cut out! I'll have them in weekly. That should free up some time for sewing - as soon as I can sit long enough to do that.
It's always something.

Fraud charges?!?! UGH!!! Good luck!! And woo hoo for the cleaners! Best choice you could make. I wish that I made enough to have some here. lol Someday... *sigh*
Feel better!!!
If you decide to have the surgery, you will need help at home for a while. Not only for the house but for your care. Been there, done that twice.
Yikes! Do you know how it was compromised? Computer, buying gas?
I check mine everyday. I had my account compromised 3 times. The bank told me it was stolen probably because I shop online. I have a separate account that I keep just for that, I keep about $100 in it and that's all they would get, and it's not linked to my main account.
My good friend cleans for people who physically can't do it. She is a hard worker, very kind and compassionate -- and likes to laugh. I hope you have the same kind of person! More than that, I hope you feel better soon! Florence
When it rains, it pours. Good for you getting a cleaning service. You should treat yourself to this, no more guilt (just guessing) over sewing or housework. Sewing should win out, but I still feel guilty about not cleaning, now you won't have to!
I'm glad you caught those charges on your bank account. We check our acct on a very regular basis - very scary.
I terribly sorry to hear that you're still having challenges and pain with your back. I am glad you've hired a cleaning service. That will be a true God send for you.
(hugs)
My lawn gets mowed by check, the deck/driveway will be powerwashed by check. I'm not rich, but I have figured out the value of my time and health. I tore up my knee 3 weeks ago and I sit and I've watched the dust bunnies reproduce! Hoping for the best possible outcome for your surgery, do take the time to rehab
yes the reason I shop on line with just one cc
glad the bank made it all right again...one less thing to worry about. I bet Penny is going to love having Mom around all the time for awhile
I hope you have a lot of hand projects set up ready to do while you recoup.
I am so proud of you for finally hiring a cleaning service
maybe one of the women can help you organize your sewing space too.

There was a piece on the news last night about thieves who go in and steal the terminals at the stores that process debit cards. The alter them so that they send the card info to them, and they make new cards from the info, and go around with the new cards stealing money from people's accounts. Very scary stuff. I hope you have your surgery soon, and that it works well for you. Being in pain all the time sucks the life out of a person.
So sorry about your painful back; hope you get relief soon. Yay for the cleaning service, though! I've had an every-other-week cleaning service for nearly 20 years. They just do the basics, but it gives me more sewing time after work!
Sorry to hear about the theft, and your back issues. Hope you get to feeling better very SOON!
Best of luck with your surgery; hope all goes well and that you will be feeling good as new soon. Good for you having cleaners; take good care of yourself.
We had that happen last year, we think it happened when a card with a check went missing when I mailed it to my cousin for her wedding gift. Our bank worked very well with us also, glad you got it taken care of!
