Catching Up

I'm so far behind on everything, especially quilty things.  I was feeling kind of poorly this week, but it was my first week back at work and I fully expected that.  It was good to stretch out yesterday and not be a slave to the alarm clock.

But .... I wasted the whole day!

On July 4th I appliqued one little bitty Dutch Treat block.  It was only fitting since I started this quilt on 7/4/04.  I have 111 blocks done, 85 more to go.  I'd like to focus on this one a bit more and get almost all, if not all of the blocks done this year.

I have a couple of errands to run this morning as soon as the world wakes up, and then I plan on cutting out the Park Lane quilt by Bunnyhill Designs.  Or I'll cut as much as I can of it.  No, no, I'll get the whole thing cut out.  I think I'll be able to sit for short stretches to get the top made.  I'm behind schedule on my baby quilts!

(I need a new computer.  I'll get that ordered up next week, too.  I'm tired of fighting this one.  I can't see but half of the Blogger dashboard, so I have no clue how this post is going to look!)

Very glad you are doing better! And a little handwork often ends the day so well. As Kathie said, don't over do it,sit and appliqué with Penny near by, watch a little HGTV or TNT and let our back get strong again.

I'm so excited to 'see' you, Vicky! Please pamper yourself - sitting and stitching is a very good plan.

Sounds like you have a good plan and aren't over doing it. I love that applique, those blocks are so cute and you are over 1.2 way there. Take care in your recovery. Glad to see a post from you.

I didn't know that you are making the Dutch Treat blocks. A worthy project to finish up.

I'm so happy to see you posting too! This is your summer for resting & recuperating, so give yourself that time. Rest and stitch. Sounds perfect! ;-) Have a happy day!

Glad you are making progress on your Dutch Treat. Having made 3 of them I still want to make another but am not letting myself start another until I finish my hand hexie project and that may be awhile!
Enjoy the journey

Hi Vicky,

Glad to hear that you are feeling better!

Please stop worrying about how much you are not getting done. Your job is to rest and heal. After surgery it will take a while for you to be at full strength again. It just takes time.

Wasting the day is not a bad thing. I'm sure it was a rough week with getting back to work. I hope that your back is feeling better!!!

On a different note... You should check out my blog and see what showed up at my house on Father's Day...

a day not waking up to an alarm clock is NEVER wasted...

i have started making bigger quilts for the babies on my list - when it takes me till they are 9 or 10 to finish the quilts, they won't have to grow into them - ha ha ha!!!

Ooooh,I love your Dutch Treat blocks. Now as for blogger, I had the same problem. You need to open up the blogger dashboard with Google Chrome. Just Google doesn't work for blogger anymore. That should take care of that problem. Glad you are feeling better.
