Calendar Check

How are we all doing? I know Nancy's hanging in there. She cracks me up watching her counting down the days! :)

I think I've got this buying compulsion licked! Of course, it probably helps that I'm too tired at night to look at oneline quilt shop newsletters, and also that I don't have an LQS (local quilt shop) any more! I just need to get myself organized so I can sew at night. I think when I start using the stash, that I'll really get excited about this new chapter in my quilty life.

Work has been slow on Lisa's quilt. It's next to impossible to get anything done during the week. Hopefully this weekend I can get the house clean, and get my projects organized so sewing at during the week won't be such a chore. I have zero energy these days. It's probably the toll the long, hot summer has played on this old body, and I know this week it's been the emotional toll of worrying about my brother and his family. But quilting is the one thing that I truly look forward to, so it's up to me to make that happen!

Day 11 here and holding strong!

I'm good & just made an investment that will help me stay on task...

(You have to visit my blog to read about it!)

I purchased 1 magazine... But that is not fabric & I used my coupon.

I'm so happy to provide entertainment. LOL!

Really it's not be that hard. Unlike you I do have a LQS but don't like it so it's easy to ignore it. And I've been too tired to surf online shops. That's what usually gets me in trouble. But after my purchases yesterday I think I'd better just delete all of those from my bookmarks!

All you people ticking of the no-buy days on your calendar make me chuckle and that's even before I fell off the wagon! My calendars at work look exactly the same - but I'm ticking off the days until I can retire LOL! So I can spend more time with future grandkids, hubby, the tent trailer, and all my fabrics!

Way to go Vicky - you've avoided "tricky" days so they won't be "icky" LOL

You deserve a huge pat on the back now give yourself permission to leave the house as it is and SEW!

I started reorganizing my fabrics, and it's amazing, like finding new friends you say---hey I can you this for that...just wait... you'll see.

I am doing good - I bought my bolt of batting and I bought a child's sewing machine - but no fabric!

Doing great here. I can't believe how much easier it is to use the stash after having done just two quilts. I could have this stash outta here soon . . well maybe in 10 years or so!

You have every right to be tired these days. You've been through so much and you're right about the heat. It's awful but . . fall's coming and hopefully better days for you.

I am still going strong myself. I do look which I shouldn't do but I can't help myself. Fortunately there has not been anything that has caught my eye.

no troubles here-like you I am too tired and distracted by life to go shopping. Plus, I have barely even been on the computer. In fact, I came in here meaning to stitch bindings...and here I am commenting on blogs! I hope you are able to muster the energy and get it set up so you can get some quilty things done during the week!

No material here at all - fabric warehouse is closed for August which helps I suppose, but getting withdrawal symptoms.

Fabric warehouse reopens on 28 August. Have I got to wait until 1 September?

Good Girl Vicky!! See, it's not so bad. Once you get past the initial shock factor, it flows right along.
And I'll bet once you begin to dig in your stash for the quilt that comes next, you'll find treasure you forgot you had...*VBS* And a few "dogs" too...LOL\
Cher posted a quilt this morning(donated to their cause) and the maker had actualy pieced together 3 pieces of the same fabric to get her 1.5" X probably 6" strip. A true scrap quilter..it's a good reminder for us, I think..*VBS* The fabric industry has us jumping to their tunes, I think.

It's getting easier as the days go by, but temptation keeps throwing fabric in front of all of us. There's a Joann's not far from me that is closing. Think of the sales!!! My Keepsake catalogue just showed up the other day. Oh my.
Stay strong ladies, stay strong.
