My dear friend, Lady Baltimore, sent Daisy some Christmas presents, among them a battery operated dog that barks and moves and wags its tail. I had fun with Daisy with it. She loved it!
Well, last night I thought I'd get it out for Penny. As soon as I turned it on, she backed all the way backwards as far as she could on the sofa. So far, in fact, that her back legs were up on the top of the arm, and only her front feet on the sofa. Naturally I didn't have my camera handy.
Then she leapt over it, and decided to check it out from the other direction. What in the world is that thing? (Here's where I grabbed the camera.)
My little dog start barking - and barking and barking. She was moving so fast in circles on the sofa that I just snapped a picture and here's what I got. It looks like she's attacking it, but actually she was barking forward for a step or two, and then barking backwards away from it.
I was laughing so hard! Had to call Jane for her to hear. That's sick, I know.
I guess my sweet little puppy is a big dog now! She barks!

That little pup has some wonderful expressions, doesn't she? The first photo, you can almost see her thinking "What in the world is that?".
So, have you shown her the ball that talks?
xoxox to you both,
LadyBaltimore
Now I'm laughing - this is something my little Cooper would do, as well.
Great photos! Looks like she's chasing the toy dog. That's one of the things I love about our doxie. He makes us laugh.
Oh Vicky what a fun story! I'm so glad that you're laughing again! She is precious.
Love it! I never get enough of puppy stories and Penny is adorable.
That's too funny. I can see how sharp those puppy teeth are in the picture of her barking. Every time I see her, I want to scoop her up and snuggle her.
You're doing a great job of capturing her personality in photo and words. Like the others, I enjoy your "Penny posts".
Oh, that is so funny! Glad she's bringing you joy!
I love the look on her face in the first photo and how fierce she is in the 2nd one! She is so precious.
Vicky: I just got caught up with your last few entries. The Prarie Paisley top is wonderful. However, you are dangerous - you keep introducing us to beautiful new patterns like Frosted Windowpane! You are definitely Fat Quarter Shop's best adverstising! :-)
I think you are very much enjoying your new puppy!
Too funny! Penny is such a typical dachshund, isn't she? She looks like a complete joy - never a dull moment!
