Countdown to Christmas

Pennsylvania Dutch BOM participants, please go HERE to comment about your finished blocks. The drawing is early Christmas morning, 12/25/09! Good luck!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have I decorated? No. Am I going to? Probably not. I've been really stressed the past couple of months and, besides, I think a tree might prove too tempting for Penny this year. But I have plans for next year, BIG plans I'm going to decorate every room like I used to. I always had so much fun doing Christmas, and I'm definitely going to get rolling on things early in 2010!
A couple of weeks ago, I found a box on the doorstep addressed to Penny. Seriously! I opened it up and there were small packages wrapped in tissue paper and labeled 1 through 12. She received her own 12 days of Christmas packages from her own secret elf!
So each day she's been opening one package. Before I go to bed at night, I put her package on the coffee table. In the morning after our walk, I grab the camera and turn her loose. She has gotten quite good at unwrapping. OMG, there are toys everywhere! What a sweet secret elf she has! Miss Elf may have created a monster, though. During the year I might have to take some old toys and wrap them up just so she can unwrap them! :)
So sorry you are so stressed. You could decorate some now and leave it up all year and say you are just starting early for 2010.
Miss Penny looks like she is having fun. So thoughtful of her secret dog Santa.
How adorable!!! Penny is such a cutie!
I haven't decorated in years! To me, it takes away from my sewing time and since no one stops by my house, then no one would be disappointed that there are no decorations up! lol
Just getting caught up. Penny is SO cute. My dog would just look at the wrapped package. I hope you do decorate next year. I haven't put things out for 3 years, was ready to Not put up a tree as I'd help decorate 2 already, then my boss bought me a tree and had it delivered to my front door. I'm SO glad he did, there's just something about Christmas lights.....
How cute!!! I wish I would have thought of the idea! I'm pretty much with you on the decorating...we have been in the process of remodeling our home for some time now and with the mess it's hard to get the motivation to do any decorating. I too used to do all rooms at Christmas. Well I broke down on Sat. and decided to put up a little tree. It made me smile because I adopted Gidget in Dec. of '07 and it brought back memories of her sitting by the little tree no bigger than a soda can. Anyway...don't beat yourself up over not decorating...you'll get back at it when you have time and are ready. Happy Holidays from Me and Gidget. Kisses to Penny!
