Wow. No guess from me -- I've never gotten that much fabric in one shipping before. Mine always comes in an envelope! So as you may imagine, I'm just a little envious of someone who buys fabric with such guilt-free abandon. I agonize over every fabric purchase, thinking about how long I've held onto some of the yardage that I have. :)
Wow, I don't have a guess, but I'm experiencing some jealousy issues right now! LOL All I can say is ENJOY - I'm looking forward to Saturday to see what kind of goodies you've got in those mega boxes!! :-)
Let's see, every civil war fabric that Fat Quarter Shop has gotten in in the past 2 weeks or so, and there is a bunch of it! How fun!!!!! It will take you a few hours to pet all of this stuff on Saturday, be sure you get your camera all battered up (no such word, just please have it working, lol) so we can see and drool on our computers! Am going to set my alarm, :) Oh, and the new line by Anne Sutton if she has one. Need to go look at FQS and see if I missed any.
Since you don't have comments open on today's post, I'll post here.
I read a lot of blogs, including quilting blogs. On some of the political ones and even on some that you'd never guess would bring heated debate, it is quite common to have people blast each other, use bad language and generally quesiton your parentage. It's a phenomena of the internet, this saying things in print that you wouldn't dream of saying to anyone's face.
But I'm always amazed at quilting bloggers. You put yourself out there and at times are quite honest and then get upset when someone criticizes you. Or you think is criticizing you. I don't understand this sensitivity that quilting bloggers have.
While this person wasn't exactly nice about it, s/he left an opinion that you didn't like. And Beezus said, "someone who buys fabric with such guilt-free abandon". That's said a little nicer but could also be taken as negative and judgemental. But, as Joy Behar says, "so what, who cares?" It's one person's opinion and either you own it and are hurt by it or you say, "that's not me" and move on.
It's your blog; write what you want. If an annonymous person writing in the comments hurts your feelings, I don't understand why you would open yourself up. Just ignore it. Or better yet, talk about it and tell us that your feelings are hurt but keep on doing what you want to do.
I bet it is full of beautiful fabrics to make as many projects as you would like. Please don't worry about negative comments keep doing what your doing, we all come back for a reason.
I love seeing what you get in the mail! I'm expecting a package myself today and have been anxiously awaiting it for 3 days. The Fat Quarter Shop carries SO many things, I think it would be impossible for me to accurately guess what's in there, but I know you've been into Civil War fabrics lately so that would be my best guess. Although she did just get some Fat Quarter Bundles in of Etchings (which I LOVE), so I might guess that too!
Please carry on with your stash report. I look forward to it every Sunday! I love seeing the fabric and threads that you buy. Please don't let one grumpy soul put you off. The rest of us love it!
I am going to guess at Robyn Pandolph Bowood House? Or Civil War? Or Holly Holderman Annie's Farm Stand? Whatever it is, I'm sure it's gorgeous xxx
You didn't leave a way to comment in your new post about the nasty anonymous comment. My eyes filled up with tears when I read that, people can be so cruel. Makes me wonder why they even read the blogs. I for one enjoy your fun purchases and stash report. In your boxes, don't know, I'm sure it's awesome and they are wrong you will use it.
I was surprised to see you posted today (I have you on my sidebar) and usualy see you post on weekends..though did miss the last few post because I'd been ill. I'm commenting here because you aren't taking comments on the above post and I just have to put in my two cents worth. Anonymous is likely jealous is all and unfortunately took the coward way out of leaving an anonymous comment to expres that and make herself feel better though a dig at you. You just can't take this personally. When we blog we put ourselves out there and everybody has an opinion whether it is something we want to hear or not. I can never purchase the amounts of fabric you are able to purchase so I have what I call fabric envy. Personally, I love to see what all you are able to purchase and I'm delighted with your giveaways though have never won. There is something about just "petting fabric" that is enjoyable and if the time comes that we never worked with it and all out of love with it...we part. What is the big deal about that? Same goes for clothing right? Anyway I say don't let this person get you down and just keep being you! Many of us enjoy your stash reports and like me simply have "fabric envy." Hugs...enjoy your day!!
I should leave a guess as to what is in the boxes right? :-) I'm guessing you may have taken full advantage of the 8- day sale Fat Quarter Shop was having and got lots and lots of yardage for backings. :-) BOM backings too! Hugs!!!
OK, I guess I'm supposed to guess what is in there. Hmmm - Minick & Simpson? BTW, I just ordered the Daily Deal from Missouri Star, something that I totally do not need, but guess what? I bought it anyway. I'm not taking food out of anybody's mouth, not even the fat cats that live around here, so who's business is it anyway?
Seriously - how can you even wait until Saturday? I can't stand leaving an unopened envelope....and with fabric? NO way. Ignore ignorance - continue on - delete comments from here and from your head. Part of the fun should be sharing what you do! And - I love the estate sale comment :D
Oh Vicki...I don't know why people have to try to be hurtful. I'm 61 years old and I can honestly say that I have never in my life intentionally tried to hurt an individuals feelings. I personally have truly enjoyed your posts and your stash reports. You ALWAYS make me smile, ALWAYS. Just wanted you to know that. As for the boxes...I hope they hold some treasures that will make you smile. (((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))))
Well "Anonymous" is too embarrassed about what she writes to even leave a name and obviously wishes she could shop like you do. Let alone do anything that would be worthwhile besides bitch. Frankly I shop just like you do - maybe even a little more somedays. I can more than afford it, I like it, and NOBODY knows me well enough to have an opinion about it. So stuff it Ms. Anoynmous. Now - how come I didn't know about an 8 day sale???!!! (and I LOVE your stash reports - don't stop 'em!)
You didn't leave a comment section for todays post. Was that person who said it, trying to be mean or was she making a joke? I know that I take things the wrong way sometimes, hard to see the humor sometimes in a posting. And if it was meant to be mean, then ..... her, you know what they say about opinions;)
I have truly enjoyed reading your posts on your blog and will be sorry to see the change. Your posts have been educational, interesting, funny, thoughtful, and honest, and I've always appreciated that. To think that someone is deliberately hurtful to you, thinking they're funny, that it's ok to deliberately reach out and punch someone, makes me so very sad. I hope that you know that for every thoughtless, senseless, hurtful, cruel time someone has written a negative comment, there is at least one person - me - who has appreciated your honesty in tackling your stash with enthusiasm and having an admirable goal with a realistic outlook. For me, crafting is soul-filling and relaxing and frustrating and maddening and hilarious and joyful and annoying and something I cannot do without, or at least I shouldn't do without. Craft blogs are a way for me to see what others are doing, learn sometimes, laugh often, occasionally cry, and helps me feel connected to others around the world. I am so sorry for your pain. God bless you.
Oh, Vicky, I wish people wouldn't post such mean, unnecessary comments. I really enjoy your posts and wish we could have met in person when we were both at the Long Beach quilt show last Saturday. I would really miss it if you didn't post about your sewing/buying adventures.
On to more fun things. I think you bought lots of Civil War fabrics and maybe some sale fabric from the FQS. In any case, I'd love to see what's in that box!
I am behind on blog reading and now just catching up. That is thrilling! I love opening packages from Fat Quarter shop. I have a smaller package here waiting to be opened.
I often will shop when sales appear when I have money to spend. I take full advantage of not only sales and clearances; but, also the free shipping! It always makes my day getting the best deals for the things I want from Fat Quarter shop. :-)
I love fondling fabric and dreaming up things to do with them when they arrive.
Something tells me you're a lot like me. Who cares about what other people thinks! Especially any comment made by "anonymous".
Vicky... don't let the beyotches who are filled with jealousy get you down. I am the EXACT way as you are. Part of quilting is the enjoyment of shopping and choosing. It is in my SOMEDAY stash. I may or may not get to it, but when I am ready and I need it for a project, it will be there. If not, I will give it to someone who can use it! There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And as far as opening ourselves up to it on our blogs, well I figure people who comment on a quilting blog should be NICE. This isn't a political blog. If people don't have anything nice to say on a crafing blog for crying out loud, why say anything at all? JMHO. If you don't come back to post anymore, I want to tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your blog and seeing Penny, etc. Take care.
Looks wonderful, whatever it is!! I'm coming late to the party, having just read the next post -- and I'm so sorry!! I think you are generous and kind and get great joy out of the possibilities that your purchases bring. And when you know it's time to move on, you share! You ROCK, Vicky!! God bless you today!!! And don't let one ole sour puss deny you the joy of talking about your journey. You are a blessing! Love, Mary Lou
I am sure there are some beautifull fabrics in it which will bring you lots of fun and pleasure and don't let such a person treat you like that. It is a reason that people let the anonymous button go and let people only react that are on blogger. Hope you still keep going on as I just love reading your stashbustingstories a lot. The one commenting is just a jealous person.
Unfortunately, there are unkind people in the world, but they are not the majority, and you should not give them control over your life. Do what YOU want, and clearly far more people enjoyed your post, as evidenced by their comments.
I think you hit the Anniversary sale and bought lot's of Civil War fabric!
Don't let one person's comments spoil your fun.
Have you ever read the Spinster Stitcher's Blog? She refers every once in a while that she's excited that she's been asked to sit at the Cool Kids table in stitching terms. I think you are at the Cool Kids table. LOL!
Go over and read her blog as I think you will like her, especially her dog Stewey. :-)
http://spinsterstitcher.blogspot.com
Consider the source and ignore/delete the comment. Especially since we don't let one grumpy person totally disrupt our day in real life, don't let them on your blog. :-)
I know how much it hurts to get comments like this, you really feel like you've been punched. I've had a nasty folks visit my blog and tell me I have no taste and what I have made is ugly/bad/stupid or that the fabric I have bought is horrible, etc. and some that attacked me personally, too. I really do feel for you, and I'd like to smack that spineless, cowardly "Anonymous" person!
I hope you'll show us what is in the box! I hope you'll keep doing stash reports. I love seeing all the pretty fabrics. Looking at your photos has inspired some of my purchases.
Hang in there! You have lots of support, look at all the nice comments! I've read each one this morning. Try to focus on those and to heck with the meanie!
So sorry to see your last post concerning the "Anonymous" poster and how 'it' made you feel. I'm sure hoping that all the other positive comments helped you put that one negative post aside and realize that there are so many others who LOVE your posting. I know I don't comment as often as I should because I use Google Reader and don't take the time to shift over to the blog to post a comment as often as I should. But I assure you I have read each and every post you have made and would certainly miss them if you seriously cut back. I'd like to genuinely suggest (1)you calmly (with a smile on your face) hit the DELETE button on that stupid Anonymous comment....(2)then do a happy dance as you place another order at the Fat Quarter Shop and post about it too and let us guess! ROFL OH..My guess? 1/2 yd of every piece of fabric on sale! hahaha Have a Happy Day!
I am one of your regular readers, I read your blog because I like what you write...purchases, give-aways, Penny...all of it. If I didn't like what I was reading, I would simply not visit your blog anymore, as would most "normal" people. Please don't let one nasty ruin it for your loyal readers. I would guess Nasty will comment again, even if you are not posting about purchases or give-aways. Nasty likes being mean no matter what.
I would love to have a big delivery on my front porch from The Fat Quarter Shop, especially if it contained lots of Civil War fabrics.
I, too, want to comment on today's post (and can't b/c the comments are closed). I read lots of blogs and tend to lurk and only comment when I really have something to contribute. Obviously "Anonymous" has nothing better to do in life than to try to make someone else's miserable. Take that person for what they are - "an oxygen thief", don't give them another thought and move on. Continue to post if you like/want to and just chalk it up to an idiot's comments.
BEE-auch! That's all I have to say, if they have something nasty to say they should have the courage and conviction to print their name beside it and since they didn't that makes them a nobody. Since you put your name out there, that makes you a somebody! BIG difference! Hit the delete button and move on with the joy in your life. I have tons of fabric, a longarm machine, a whole downstairs dedicated to quilting and it overflows into my living room. So what, I don't have a husband, he died, so I'm not lucky, my live is just different that someone elses. Yes, I do lots of quilting, because I say NO a lot to other things, my choice. You purchase fabrics because your job/life keeps you too busy to quilt at this time, so what! It's your life, live it how you want to! OK, I best get off my soapbox....
I am so sorry that people out there in blog reading land, leave such obnoxious comments. Why do they even feel the need to say mean things? These people obviously have absolutely nothing better to do with their lives. You're not the only blogger to get nasty messages and I'm sad that those comments cause everyone such great distress. I for one just like to read the blogs, see what everyone is making, where you're shopping, what you've seen, what can inspire me on my next project. Please don't take it to heart.
Posting a negative comment and hiding behind anonymous is very cowardly indeed. I know it can be hurtful, but I really don't think you should take it personally. You have a wonderful blog and have so much to offer. And I know we all love and look forward to your Sunday stash report. Please put this behind you and check out all the positive comments you receive vs one negative one. As for the boxes, I hope it's Civil War fabric. It's my favourite.
Personally, I bought lots of fabric with abandon for many years when I was working and could afford it and I'm so glad I did because NOW I'm not working and can't afford to buy fabric but I have a full beautiful stash to work out of and have made several quilts using only my stash and need very little these days. Your stash report shows a lot coming in and a lot going out so it's not all "just because" but even if it were....so what! My suggestion is to either delete any negative comments and ignore them because it is YOUR blog and no one else's business and also perhaps make it so anonymous comments are not allowed. Best of luck to you.
Me again...I've been reading over the comments you've received since the 'DRUT' posted. 'DRUT' is what one of the top computer systems managers I worked with for years, called people like were trouble makers or complainers. I asked him one day, "What exactly is a 'DRUT' and he told me to spell it back words to find out. I don't use it very often but I wanted to share it with you. You can see from all the comments that none of us want you to stop posting your Stash report. Like the others, I'm begging...Please don't let this DRUT, steal the joy that you spread with your wonderful happy blog and great posts. I'm just sayin...Hugs...
Please don't let the trolls get you down! I'm sure (at least I would hope) that they are in the vast minority. Perhaps you would consider changing to moderated comments so they never get the satisfaction of seeing their comments posted. I hope you reconsider your decision on your stash posts. I really find them motivating! If I'm ever in doubt about whether I should "confess" a purchase, I think to myself, "Vicky would post it"! I don't comment often (I tend to lurk), but just know that we love you and your posts and support whatever you decide to do.
I'm so sorry that someone would be so spiteful that they would say something that would hurt you. I'm sure it's pure envy that they can't buy as much stuff as you can, instead of feeling happy that you have the freedom to support the FQS. Don't quit blogging or posting your stash report, I for one love to read your blog and your stash reports!
Hey, girl! You know I love what you write. I buy a lot more fabric than I end up using, but I work hard, and those purchases make me happy. That's what really matters - does it make you happy? If so, then ignore the nay-sayers because their opinions don't matter. There are a lot of people who don't understand why I love to sew or love to go to quilt retreats. But they are truly missing out on some enjoyment. Don't let one rotten apple ruin the whole basket.
Vicky, there are some people who just can't stand it when anyone else is happy. that's their problem, and they have absolutely no right to unload on you.
Buying fabric and poking buttons makes lots of us happy and brings joy to our day. It validates the wonderful fabric store and their staff, and is an important part of keeping this economy going and people employed. As such,by your purchases you are playing a vital part in both the quilting industry and the small business commerce of this great country of ours. It's the small businesses that do a greater percentage of new hiring than the larger industrial factories do.
Vicky, Don't you dare stop poking!
there are still a lot of people out there who need those jobs that your dedicated button poking will provide. They owe you a debit of gratitude. not complaints! pam
You don't know me at all...I've never commented I don't think...but I look. I know how hard it is to ignore nasty, unkind people. Yes the internet is a public forum where people don't feel the need to use their manners....but that doesn't make it okay. I enjoy seeing what you get. I'm quite poor and I could have a bad attitude about others getting nice things...instead, I choose to enjoy looking, enjoy seeing others pleasure in what they've been able to get etc. So please, let the negativity roll off you and continue forward. With most sincerity, Lisa in Oregon
Hi, eight day sale at FQS and you love fabrics..... pretty obviuos what`s in those boxes! And to bad comments on blogs, dont`pay any attention to that. You have many followers that like what you write about.
I don't think I can improve on what's been said before. It's sad that someone feels so bad they have to make bitter and negative comments but that shouldn't - mustn't - stop you enjoying your stash and, I hope, continuing to share it with us. I live in the UK where there aren't many quilt shops and they don't always have the lovely fabrics I see online, so I am grateful to "share" in your stash. Please don't stop. Best wishes Amanda
Just keep doing what you are doing and ignore the negativity. If fabric makes you happy, go for it and let all of us enjoy your humour! Never mind the fact that we can all live vicariously through your joy-filled fabric buying! Big hugs from Canada!!!!
Don't let that ...that...[expletive] get to you. I love your blog and read every post. That includes the stash reports, the "i'm too tired to sew" reports and the penny updates. All of it. I've been inspired by so many of your posts.
It's easy to be mean when you don't have to take credit or responsibility for your actions. Ignore that big meany, chicken-[expletive]! ann
Take pride in the fact that you have worked hard to get to where you are today. It's your time and effort that goes into a job that earns you money to buy what you want! You have earned every little bit of fabric that you have! Buy it, pet it, sew it, give it away, whatever brings you fulfillment and joy to your life. That is your choice and yours alone! PLEASE don't stop posting, don't let the evil, insert bad word here, win! I so enjoy your blog and all that you write about! (((HUGS)))
I know there is something absolutely wonderful in those boxes!! My mind is just buzzing like the children with sugarplums dancing in their heads!! :-))
Please don't let one hurtful nasty person take away the fun! We all enjoy seeing your purchases and learning about new fabrics through you. Have you seen the TV commercials where a guy is 'Peggy' and works for an unscrupulous credit company? Anonymous could very well be 'not' what he/she appears to be. Don't let them win!
This is a response to your "I'm done" posting (since it looks like you disabled comments).
Don't let nasty people get to you. . . we have all had them. . . .heck I kept getting bombarded by a troll to the point where I started a new blog. But then I had blog friends that were looking for me.
My DH & I use the philosophy of "we don't drink, smoke or do drugs. . . so there!" and purchase what we want.
Of course, having just finished getting the basement back from a sewer flood I can tell you it was a heartache to lose over 215 yards of fabric (which can not be replaced exactly since some of it was 12 years old) and to lose WIPs that had been in process for various periods of time from the last 12 years.
But at least I can replace some of the items that were lost. . . and I still have enough of a stash that I don't have withdrawal until I do.
So try to look past the inconsiderate posters (which, in reality, shouldn't be bothering with your blog anyway) and look to those of us with the same "syndromes" as you (PAS...pattern acquisition syndrome, FAS...fabric acquisition syndrome, etc.) and just keep right on doing what you are doing.
I'll guess some Minick & Simpson and sale goodies, but I know the boxes contain great future projects and joy for you (and Penny). Keep being yourself. It's hard to ignore cyber bullies but there's way more of us who love ya than turkeys who want to bully others. Hugs, Priscilla
I'm sorry that somebody made feel like that, I love people that blog and shows their work and acquisitions, I'm I jealous? Yes. But on a good way, I get happy and exited when I see other people "stuff" I doesn't even have to be fabric and I feel sorry for those people that the envy "corrodes" them, I wish you keep blogging and showing "us", the people that are interested in knowing whats going on, your stuff. Don't know anymore what to say but even if its not the proper word: I'm with you. Hugs: Ruth
Please don't stop showing us your purchases, I love seeing them. I am over feeling guilty at what I purchase. It makes me happy and I am not hurting anyone so what's the deal ! Can't wait to see what is in the boxes, I love boxes because you just can't tell what is in them !
Please don't stop showing us your purchases, I love seeing them. I am over feeling guilty at what I purchase. It makes me happy and I am not hurting anyone so what's the deal ! Can't wait to see what is in the boxes, I love boxes because you just can't tell what is in them !
My guess? Lots of gorgeous fabrics to make dreams with. I look forward to the great big unveiling!! Don't worry about Anon - she/he is jealous and has a very vindictive mind with nothing better to do than rain on others happiness.
Oh my dear...I can't say in public what I'm thinking about the mean spirited petty person who didn't have nerve to sign their post. I love the stash report, its how I found you're blog in the first place., I buy as much fabric as I want too and so enjoy seeing if we bought the same things. Its easy for the rest of us to say shrug it off but nastiness hurts so I understand. But I hope you know the rest of us love you and Penny and the fabric parade.
It is YOUR life, YOUR money, YOUR hobby, YOUR blog and YOU are the only person affected by what YOU do. YOU can post and BUY whatever YOU want. If WE don't want to read it, WE don't have to.
OH NO!!! Please don't stop blogging! You are my inspiration! After a buying binge in June and early July, I finally decided to join you August 1st. So here I am on August 3rd -- Purchases: 0, Used 0 -- lol. Hope to change that Used this weekend. Love your blog! Florence
Please don't allow one mean spirited snot ruin your fun! I am fairly new to your blog, but I LOVE seeing your stash and purchases.
I am amazed that you can wait 'til Saturday to open the boxes! I would be on the floor in the Post Office "digging in"!
Bottom line is this; you are not harming anyone by having a stash, or purchasing fabrics! In fact, you are supporting our economy in a very tactile way! You answer to no one about your purchases!
I hope all the support helps to erase the nastiness! Take heart!
There seems to be a lot of ugliness being spread around in blogland lately and I'm sorry it has found it's way to you. Like others I would suggest moderating all comments and not allowing anonymous ones.
So just hang in there girl. Its obvious to me by all the comments I've read that you are much loved and admired by both readers and bloggers alike...myself included.
Vicky, I read your blog all the time and thoroughly enjoy it. You come across as a very decent and pleasant person, and I'm sorry you've had this irritant! Whatever you want to do with your blog is the right decision.
I've read your blog for a while, but this is my first time commenting. Unless your mugging little old ladies or taking money from the church collection plate to support your fabric habit, it's no ones business how much you buy. When my mother died she left tons of fabric. I kept some of it, but I turned most of it into 232 pillowcases for the Million Pillowcase Challenge. I was glad that she had indulged herself by buying something she loved, and in the end it ended up doing good for someone (actually lots of someones) else. My guess about what's in the boxes -- something Anonymous would be jealous of.
You work hard. I think that gives you the right to shop hard if you choose to do so. In the immortal words of Dr. Seuss: those who mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind. Keep posting about WHATEVER YOU WANT TO!
Something went wrong with my previous comment .... just wantedd to say how much I love your blog and honestly what's it got to do with anyone except you what you do with your money and/or fabric? The uglies need to get a life - really they do.
Amongst other things I'm willing to bet that you have a Judie Rothermel Fat Quarter Assortment Box - it looks divine.
Vicky, I hope you reconsider,I like your blog and love to see your ideas and choices. I am sorry this happened to you, I don't understand why some people act this way.
I read your blog all the time and thoroughly enjoy it. I think you are a very talented quilter and a very very generous person. Keep up your blog and your kind heart.
PS ~ Are the boxes filled with 12 pound grab bags?
OK, I'm going to be totally honest here.... Mean people SUCK!!! I don't know why you leave anonymous available as an option. Just remove it. I did and you know what? It made the mean people on my blog OWN their comments and the first time that they did that and looked like fools, they never bothered to comment again.
I'm sure that whatever is in those boxes is something that you will love and enjoy! So scr*w what those Haters think!! :-D
Wow, some people sure are nasty. There's alot of that going on in blogland these past few weeks. I really appreciate your posts and I look forward to your updates. Maybe your boxes have lots of Tammis Keefe Tribute and Fig Tree fabrics (oh, haha that's what I received in my boxes from Fat Quarter Shop!)
That person who said that didn't even have the "balls" to leave their name - they knew they were being mean. Didn't their momma ever tell them "if you can't say something nice - don't say it at all?" Ignore the witch (and trust me when I say I am being VERY nice when I call them a witch) and don't let them get you down. They are probably just jealous that you have wonderful fabric and THEY don't!!
I would say maybe the Kona solids collection or maybe a yard of all the bella solids (my fav!!)... or maybe some cool kits... I don't know - I just love living vicariously through your purchases! I love the Fat Quarter Shop too!
This "Anonymous" person seems to be a very mean-spirited and unhappy person. Please don't let that get to you. You work really hard and are entitled to buy what you want.
My guess is backings from the lines you had ordered before.
Vicky, please don't let this mean "anonymous" commenter win. I say, as long as "anonymous" isn't paying your hobby bill then ignore AND delete "anonymous". It is your blog and your life, do as you please.
In the boxes....nicely bundled, beautiful fabrics!!
Oh gosh, I hope you don't let one stranger pull you down. There's always party poopers everywhere. Plenty of us cheer you on - every time you make a stash report, I hope you're a little more ahead! I sometimes find myself holding my breath towards the end of the year that you'll get ahead in your stash by at least 1 yard. :D
Of course it's fabric in the box! Is it for the Henriette Whiskers pattern? I don't know my fabric lines too well.
I have no guesses, but I will miss your blogging. I have always enjoyed your stash reports and how you pick lots of beautiful fabric. I'm sorry there are a few Negative Nancys who pick on you and can't be happy for your good fortune.
Vicky, Please don't change a thing! I love your blog, your taste in fabrics, your generousity, your cute-as-can-be Penny and would feel very sad if you didn't continue to entertain us. Please reconsider!!
This is what I think is in those boxes: Dover Cocheco Mills III, LOTS of it!
Oh Vicky....I have been on the receiving end of your generosity. I won a $50 gift certificate from you to shop at Fat Quarter Shop. It was just like Christmas. Right after that Mary Lou won a lot of fat quarters from you and you had another giveaway after that. The person that left that comment obviously doesn't know what a big heart you have. They also didn't listen when they were taught: If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all. If I find something on a blog I don't like, I simply go on to the next. This is all in good fun, and there is no need to be hateful. Please don't change a thing on your blog. There are too many of us that enjoy reading. Hugs to you!
I am a new follower of yours. I am already impressed by your generosity and your large heart. People buy things. Some want fabric, some buy clothes or make-up or books. It's nobody's place to judge who buys what in which quantities or for why. If you want a large stash, that's your business! I keep a smaller stash, although non-quilters would disagree. But I love to see what other people are buying and how they choose fabric. If buying fabric makes you happy, OWN it! Don't let the Negative Nellies bring you down! Blog about it and spread the word so I can buy fabric vicariously through you! Seriously, there are tons of encouraging, supportive bloggers that left comments on this post. Listen to them and let Anonymous rain on someone else's parade!
whatever you have ordered from the fat quarter shop, it will be spectacular. They have such terrific fabrics and always package their things so nicely. I am sure whatever new fabrics you have chosen, they will be lovely.
As for the issue of rude commenters- it saddens me to think that others can spoil the joy one gets from writing and sharing on a blog. It is not a reflection of you but it does reflect badly on them, especially when they choose to hide behind the anonymous comment. It is your blog and it is a lovely one. Only you know what you want to do next but know that you have lots of readers who appreciate your talents and have benefitted from your kindness and generosity. I enjoy seeing what you are doing and hearing your stories. Thank you for your kind and generous ways. Regards, Anna
While I don't normally post comments on your blog, I am a frequent "lurker". I do agree with most everyone else's comments regarding your "anonymous" commenter.
There are a lot of folks out there that need to take a piece of advice that my mother used to say all the time..."If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!"
Its one thing to post a comment to spur discussion about something (i.e. a technique on how to piece something, political, etc), but its a totally different situation to post a comment that you KNOW is going to be hurtful to the person.
Keep your chin up...the rest of us love reading your posts and seeing the lovely fabrics you buy. Be glad that you provide the wonderful "eye candy" to the rest of us. :-)
By giving in to someone because they have caused you pain is to give them the blue ribbon. They have done what they have set out to do. You are declaring that person the better one, the winner. We all know she/he is not. This is the first time I have ever commented on anyone's post. You have a gift and you are a gift to others. Please do not give this person your blue ribbon, for IT IS YOURS. Wear it proudly.. remember “Anger is often more hurtful than the injury that caused it” English Proverb You have many cyberspace "friends" who truly care... and besides... I have been living vicariously through your purchases . LOL If you shut down.. I will go through Fabric Withdrawal :(
Phooey. Shame on the ugly person who needs to get a life. **** them, I enjoy your blog. I will miss you and hope that you reconsider your decision to stop blogging. Helen
Don't let the meanies of the world win or change your behavior!! I recently had a rude response to what I thought was a nice comment on the woman's blog...and I was hurt and thinking "am I doing something wrong." But my 17 year old son, always the voice of reason, reminded me I hadn't done anything wrong and that on the internet, some people just feel a need to express their negativity, but I shouldn't let that 1 person effect me. And you know what? He's right! You bring pleasure to hundreds of quilters every time you post. Focus on the half full glass!! I LOVE your stash reports. It inspires me, who is trying to use my stash!
I want to see what's in that box...I am drooling. But I am so sad that you feel like not posting anymore. Don't let one stupid person ruin your day. We all love your posts, so don't let us down. Blogs like yours are the reason I decided to start blogging.
Wow, I can't believe the venom. I was DELIGHTED for you. I, myself, have "alot of crap" I don't need but so what? I guess it's just what I do. Let all the haters just BITE ME, that's what I say!!
Well, I scanned thru these comments because I felt I too needed to tell you pretty much what everyone else said. Don't let one rotten, jealous apple spoil things for you. If I could, I punch a lot more buttons. I love that you can! We all know that if we don't get something we love while it's available, we probably won't get it. (My family doesn't understand my stash at all.) Times change, our tastes change and we all experience the "what was I thinking" moment. I think you are a very generous person. Not only do you give away tons of fabric, but you share your quilting life with us. I love your stash reports and I think you've done a pretty darn good job this year. Please continue. Anonymous is a very cowardly person and a very jealous person. Don't let her spoil your enjoyment. Also, we'd all really, really, really miss Penny!
I'm a little behind the times, but I just wanted to say how sorry I am about that mean comment. I read it and all I could think was, what is wrong with this person? Haven't they ever heard the expression, if you can't think of anything nice say, don't say anything?
I LOVE your fabric updates, and look forward to them every week! You better believe when my children are grown I will receive boxes and boxes of fabric every week too! Keep up the good work Vicky!

Fabric? Sorry, you know I have to be a chucklehead! ENJOY!
Sprained back for the Man in Brown? LOL
Lots and lots of wonderful fabric, lol.
You are waiting till saturday, I could never wait that long;)
Debbie
hmmm - maybe the whole kona solids collection?!
Holy guacamole! Did you buy yourself a couple quilting elves or something?
If I had to guess...a solids collection? I can't wait to see what's in the box...probably stuff I will be totally jealous of.
Id say at least one snuggles pack a few rolls and a few layer cakes!! Izzyquilts@gmail.com
Lots of fat quarters!! Or did you order some snuggles packs?!?
What wonderful boxes...you better be careful that Penny doesn't open those boxes while you're eat work...LOL! Can't wait to see what's inside!
I'd guess civil war & a solids collection. Whatever it is I know you're gonna have a blast opening those boxes. Have fun!
don'tcha just love it when kimberly has a sale?
must admit i got a package this week from her too, but it's only 5 yards for a new dress.
More crap that you don't need and will never make and will end up giving away to help the stash report??
Am I close?
Just seeing the Fat Quarter Shop logo on the book is exciting. Enjoy your new goodies!
Dear Vicky
Hugs!!!
How can you possibly wait until Saturday? Second, forget about the biddy that made that comment. You're going to have a great estate sale someday!!
Lots of beauty you love and that's what matters! Hugs and love!
You didn't leave a comment section for todays post.
Was that person who said it, trying to be mean or was she making a joke? I know that I take things the wrong way sometimes, hard to see the humor sometimes in a posting. And if it was meant to be mean, then ..... her, you know what they say about opinions;)
Debbie
Love,
Mary Lou
I am sure there are some beautifull fabrics in it which will bring you lots of fun and pleasure and don't let such a person treat you like that. It is a reason that people let the anonymous button go and let people only react that are on blogger. Hope you still keep going on as I just love reading your stashbustingstories a lot.
The one commenting is just a jealous person.
I think there's something for ME in those boxes. LOL I don't care what it is because you have excellent taste - just forward those boxes to me. :-)
It's very difficult not to let the little people hurt our feelings but truly they are little people.
Please ignore Ms Anonymous. Some people are never happy and take it out on others. Too bad she didn't have the nerve to sign her comment.
I think that your boxes are loaded with Christmas fabric.
Happy Quilting
Unfortunately, there are unkind people in the world, but they are not the majority, and you should not give them control over your life. Do what YOU want, and clearly far more people enjoyed your post, as evidenced by their comments.
Hi Vicky,
Hmmm...
Cynthia
Oh, please don't let the ugly, mean people win!
ROFL
OH..My guess? 1/2 yd of every piece of fabric on sale! hahaha
Have a Happy Day!
Cindy in No. Texas
Vicky,
I'm so sorry that someone would be so spiteful that they would say something that would hurt you.
Wendy in Iowa
Keep the good work up.
Summergreatings from Ann-Mari
I don't think I can improve on what's been said before. It's sad that someone feels so bad they have to make bitter and negative comments but that shouldn't - mustn't - stop you enjoying your stash and, I hope, continuing to share it with us. I live in the UK where there aren't many quilt shops and they don't always have the lovely fabrics I see online, so I am grateful to "share" in your stash. Please don't stop.
Best wishes
Amanda
Just keep doing what you are doing and ignore the negativity. If fabric makes you happy, go for it and let all of us enjoy your humour! Never mind the fact that we can all live vicariously through your joy-filled fabric buying! Big hugs from Canada!!!!
Vicky,
Don't let that ...that...[expletive] get to you.
{{hugs}}
Hi Vicky,
This is a response to your "I'm done" posting (since it looks like you disabled comments).
By the way---I LOVE your blog! Have never won anything---but that doesn't stop me from checking in daily!
*hugs*

Hugs
Gail
Vicky,
I hope you reconsider,I like your blog and love to see your ideas and choices.
Jess
Yikes - things are bad in the blog world. What is up with that - and the horrible people. So sorry :(
But I had to make a guess....they look a lot like Rita's boxes from the fat quarter shop that had all the amazing Kona solids. So I'm guessing that!
Vicky, please don't let this mean "anonymous" commenter win. I say, as long as "anonymous" isn't paying your hobby bill then ignore AND delete "anonymous". It is your blog and your life, do as you please.
In the boxes....nicely bundled, beautiful fabrics!!
Beverly
My guess: yardage of Kansas Troubles Favorites by Kansas Troubles for Moda Fabrics.
Ignore the anonymous commenter - don't let him/her ruin your day! Take the power back, Vicky, and please don't quit!
The box is filled with goodness. It's time to open it up and let it come out into the light and fill all of us with joy.
whatever you have ordered from the fat quarter shop, it will be spectacular.
Regards,
Anna
Wear it proudly.. remember
“Anger is often more hurtful than the injury that caused it” English Proverb
You have many cyberspace "friends" who truly care... and besides...
Deb
Sorry to read that comment - I recommend deleting it and any others that upset you. Life's too short to deal with such ill will.
Glad to see that you have enabled comment moderation.
I hope you show us your wonderful fabrics.
liz
I'm a little behind the times, but I just wanted to say how sorry I am about that mean comment. I read it and all I could think was, what is wrong with this person? Haven't they ever heard the expression, if you can't think of anything nice say, don't say anything?
I LOVE your fabric updates, and look forward to them every week! You better believe when my children are grown I will receive boxes and boxes of fabric every week too! Keep up the good work Vicky!
