Celebration!

It's time for Celebration!

No, nothing exciting in my life to celebrate, except for a new project using the Celebration pattern by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.  Well, actually two projects because I'm making two of them!

A friend has two new granddaughters, the most adorable little girls I've ever seen.  They were born a week apart.  I immediately thought of Anne's wonderful lines of fabric for little ones, and settled on this pattern.  Shopping was easy because Anne had already made up Celebration for Girls kits, and will be quick to sew up.  They will be identical but with different backings.

There are also Celebration kits for boys!  Probably should grab one of these, too, just to have on hand since there seems to be an abundance of new babies lately!

Even though Anne offered to remove one of the patterns, I wanted it to pass along in a give-away.  If you would like to win a Celebration pattern, please leave a comment to be entered in the drawing.  All you have to do is tell us how often you have to make a baby quilt, and whether you make more for girls or boys!  (I'm about 50/50 at this point!)

The drawing will be held on Thursday, 9/19/13, when I get home.  I'll be late because I have a 5:30 doctor's appointment that day.  Be sure your comment has contact information.

I'm off to start cutting!  I'm really excited about these fun quilts!

Good luck!

roftlyi 370Those will be such sweet quilts! I don't know that I have anymore baby quilts to do in the foreseeable future. I have done one a year for the last three years for a great nephew and two great nieces. I have made them large enough for their first big beds.

I'm the one who is having all the babies... no time to make quilts. :)

So far there's been more boys than girls. I have 2 boys, my husband's siblings have a boy each. My sister is 5 months pregnant with a boy. A good friend of mine had 2 boys.

Me? I'm hoping the baby I have next month is a girl. :D I even went so far to buy a girly outfit yesterday.

I've been stocking up on baby quilts since I have granddaughters and former students who are in their 20's. So far this year I've given out 2 boys and 1 girls. I have 2 girl quilts in the waiting, so I need to make a few boys to even it out. Thanks for the giveaway.

Adorable quilts will be produced in your home! I love making baby quilts and usually make one of each every year so I have them to give away to family or the town's pregnancy enter.

I haven't made a baby quilt in a while but most of them have been for boys. My husband's coworker is having a baby in Feb and I would like to make her one. She doesn't want to know the sex so I am hoping she decides on a nursery theme soon.

I haven't made a baby quilt in awhile, I really need to make a big boy quilt for my son. However, I will need to make a baby quilt for this little one I'm having next spring.

It seems like I need to make a baby quilt every time I turn around! Niece, former babysitters and friends' kids are having babies. Every new baby gets a quilt and I think it's pretty even as far as the count of girl or boy fabric. Some are neutral. Thanks for a great giveaway.

I love making baby quilts. I have 2 to make this month for a little girl so grandma can pick which one she like the best for her.

Love following your blog.

I don't foresee making a baby quilt in the near future but I have made 4 of them all for girls! Robin rnoel57 @gmail.com

I make baby quilts all the time because I donate them to Newborns in Need. A couple times a year I need one for a gift. Today I was at a baby shower. Both parents are UNC grads, so I used UNC fabric for the border and backing. Although I've made this pattern literally hundreds of times, I kept making mistakes on the border and had to rip and recur that expensive collegiate fabric three times!

This past summer I made 4 baby quilts, we had a lot of babies born recently. I had 3 boy quilts and 1 girl to do but unfortunately my husband got the sex of 1of the babies wrong. I ended up making 1 baby girl quilt that night for him to give the next day. Just a bit stressful at the last minute. I made a few using Me and My Sister fabric and white, the pattern was (I think) disappearing 4 patch. Baby quilts are my favorite size to make and to quilt. Enjoy making yours. ;-> Toni Anne tpott@optonline.net

I don't make baby quilts often. However, I'm having a great, great niece due in October so the pattern would be wonderful.

I seem to make 4 to 10 baby quilts a year for new mothers at church, family and friends. Seems more girls than boys and they seemed to run in spurts.

I made a baby quilt for a boy last month - our good friend's grandbaby-to-be. He's due any day now! The one previous for that also was for a boy, my adorable nephew. So, yes, I'd say we're trending toward boys lately.

Hi Vicky,

What lucky little girls to get great quilts.

Actually, these days most of my baby projects are going to charities since there haven't been any new family members in a while.

Since I never know whether the recipient will be a boy or a girl I try to do "neutral" or "everything" color schemes.

Hope all goes well at the dr.

Lately it seems there has been a run on babies for me as well.
So far the girls are out pacing the boys.
Would love to have a new pattern to make.
Thanks for the opportunity

I seem to make 2 or 3 baby quilts a year. I make them for family, friends and fellow employees. I also keep a couple of spares on hand just in case I need one quickly. These will be really cute!

Says you can make one of those quilts in an afternoon. Good deal. I don't know anyone having a baby or thinking of having a baby. Just wanted to leave a comment for you so you would know I have been by to check on you.
