Two Neat Quilts

These quilts were both made by Debbie Foley of www.cottonpickindesigns.com fame. About three years ago I happened onto a sale of some of her older quilts, and I just fell in love with these two. They are signed on the back.

I had in the back of my mind to gift the blue and yellow to someone, but so far I still have it. :) And the other quilt is really pretty. I have enjoyed examining her use of fabrics and especially the floral border. As a new quilter, it was interesting to me her use of plaids mixed in with florals and the bright turquoise. I've learned a lot from this quilt.

I haven't purchased any finished quilts since these two -- I had a long talk with myself about that! Well, I guess I did purchase the Boomerang quilt since then, but that one doesn't count! LOL!

Just wanted to share these.

Have to share that I've taken a ton of classes from Debbie Foley and she quilted some of my quilts in the past. :-) Valerie Boman was my beginning quiltmaking teacher - she and Debbie are partners in Cotton Pickin Designs.

Wow! Then you know how beautiful these quilts are. The workmanship is exquisite on them.

I really love that blue "diamond" quilt. I have never seen that pattern before. I think I would have weakened and bought that quilt too!

I love both the quilts! Since I don't have much time for sewing myself, I find myself buying antique quilts. If I ever had the good fortune of coming across a treasure like these, I would have bought them in a flash. You did good!

Oh boy! Vicky ... I too decided August would be a fiber-free month ... I've stashed thecatalogues, and each day I delete any emails from quilt shops, so that there's no temptation ... but, it's soooo difficult.
I know a couple of people who are in recovery ... they received tokens for being 'clean' for ninety days ... can I get one for EIGHT days?
God bless, Christine in Los Angeles

Love the Christmas quilt. Buying quilts is one way to get some that are finished. =)

I can see why you bought them, they are beautiful- I especially like the one with the plaids. It is an unusual and striking combination of fabrics.

Those quilts are both so beautiful. I just love florals and plaids together. I think that's why I like Moda fabrics so much - so many of their design lines combine the two. Thanks for sharing some of your collection with us - they are fun to see!
