Still No Camera

I either need to get a new camera or quit blogging because my posts are b-o-r-i-n-g without pix!

Busy busy at work and tired when I get home, but I'm SO motivated to do some quilting now. It must be Alex's retreat in a couple of weeks that has me so fired up!

I've been reading around the blog ring for the past couple of weeks. Haven't been commenting much, but please know that I'm thinking of everyone and keeping up with the shenanigans!

NO! You can't quit blogging. Want me to go find a camera and send it to you? Everyone loves their own camera but I am on my second Sony Cybershot. I love it because I just plug the camera in like the cell phone and I don't have to take batteries out to recharge. The little memory sticks hold tons of pictures and I don't have to know a single thing about taking pictures to get halfway decent pictures. I had a 2.1 megapixel and I love it but bought the 5 megapixal because I needed that for taking pix for entering quilts in shows. I really can't tell the difference in the quality of pictures taken with the 2.1 or the 5. Even the 5 mp is really inexpensive now because they have 7 and 8 or probably more megapixel cameras.

Go get one this weekend . . ok???

You're going on retreat in 2 weeks and haven't got a new camera yet? You better go RIGHT NOW and get one! I can't live without mine anymore. This spring I bought a small one to carry in my purse and have really enjoyed being able to take spontaneous photos when I see something photo-worthy.

I check on you every day. If you stop blogging it will leave a large hole in my list.......... I enjoy knowing what other people do daily.........Not at all boring to me.

Don't quit blogging! Even the cheap cameras at Walgreen's will take decent pictures. I love my Kodak. I've taken almost 12,000 pics in the last 18 months and it's still running strong. It takes marvelous pictures and I do not know *anything* about photography!

You don't need more than 4 megapixels, unless you plan to blow your pics up to poster size or so. Doesn't make better pics with more, just bigger ones. It is better to have more optical zoom, though - that does give you more options.

Look at places like staples for cameras that are going out to make room for new models. I got my Kodak that way, and it was $100 cheaper. Any name brand will be a good camera.

Have fun with that September Hour a Day. That was a favorite of mine.

I've lost my little Sony that I got when my son was born 3 years ago. I got a new Sony about 10 days ago from Staples and proceeded to take about 175 photos with it - and brought it back today. I just wasn't happy with it. Staples was great - gave me a FULL refund (you have to return it within 2 weeks). I had wanted a small "pocket" camera, but now am thinking I will stick with a medium sized model (the size of the lost one). My DH had a BIG digital camera which takes super fab photos, but I often don't have it with me because of the size... But, I agree - you absolutely MUST go get a camera! Of course, everyone loves their own brand, so I guess I will just say - get one that feels comfortable in your hand and has buttons BIG enough for you to SEE! Oh, and did I just mention that if you get one from Staples and it doesn't work out, you can bring it back within 14 days (save your packaging!). Good luck!

Cheers!
