Stash Report Week 18

Yesterday I sewed a bit. With any luck today, and with Daisy's cooperation, I should be able to finish or almost finish a string block quilt top that I'm making for a memorial donation. About half of that fabric will be a bust for me.

Two things arrived this week from The Fat Quarter Shop. First was a tower of Judie Rothermel's Vicksburg. I'm going to be using some of that in a Civil War quilt that's a gift and that I need to start soon. The second package was the Moda U kit, Nostalgia. This quilt is going to be quick and fun to make. I plan on making it this summer. Just need to order the backing when the yardage comes out.

I think I poked some buttons this week - and I think they involved Glace! Pretty much all stashbusting bets are off for me until I satisfy my thirst for this fabric! (Wow, that was a dramatic!) I've been chomping at the bit for this since Fall Market!

So here are the ugly totals - since Judy dared us to post them!

Year-to-Date Totals:

Busted: 119.50 yards
Purchased: 308.375 yards
Net YTD: <188.875> yards

Am I kidding myself about stashbusting? At least I'm keeping records, something I've never done before. My goal is to end the year even ..... don't laugh! Everyone keeps laughing at me when I say that! I just keeping telling myself that I'm stashing for retirement!

If it makes you happy, there is no shame in it!

So sorry to hear Daisy is not feeling well. And to break even for the year, that's a GOOD goal! Hang in there!

Not laughing. Not at all. My webcam is not on so you can't see how much I am lying, right?

I had a dog with congestive heart failure so I know what you are going through. Once Daisy gets on the right dosage of medication she will be so much better. I used to give my girl baby food, rice and chicken breasts.

I would love to see a picture of your stash... where are you putting all of it!?!

Actually, I like the explanation that you are just saving for retirement... that is very good and you are assisting with the economy right now..

Atta girl!

Stashing for retirement is my excuse too...I buy faster than I can use it up. Sorry to hear about Daisy and hope she is much better.

THAT'S WHAT I SAY TOO! In this economy my 401K has tanked and I'm going to need my stash to keep myself busy during retirement.

Well the Jolly's are having twins, more mouths to feed so we all have to do our part to help :), I love that Glace collection too and I'm also doing the Moda U quilts though I had to cancel Nostalgia because well I kinda felt guilty for all my additions to my stash...
I hope Daisy is feeling better soon.
