Sleepless Night

I tossed and turned all night, and didn't get one minute of sleep. I read patterns, finished a book, tried to watch a movie to get sleepy but that didn't work. I'm real worried about the work person's surgery this morning. Please say a prayer.

Anyway, about 4:00 this morning I was a bit sleepy, and decided I'd try to nap for an hour before I had to get up. I turned off the light, curled up and -- earthquake! It was only a 4.4, but the picture above my bed (that's not supposed to be hanging there) was bouncing against the wall. Needless to say, I flew downstairs and here I sit - still waiting for the alarm clock to go off.

It's going to be a very long day.

I wonder if I should try cutting fabric with no sleep. Hmmm....

Wed 3/17/10 Update:

The surgery went very well. Two brain tumors were removed, and one will be zapped with radiation. Huge relief here! Last night I slept!! :)

Oh, I think I might wait until you've had some sleep! Glad it wasn't a damaging one.

People say I'm crazy, but I go to sleep thinking methodical thoughts about quilting. All described in a rather monotone voice...first I wash the fabric, then I iron the fabric... somehow thinking in detail about each step...PUTS ME OUT! Maybe that's why I don't get so much done?

Go take a nap! Any time is good.

I normally can't sleep either when I'm really worried. I've said a prayer for your friend's surgery. I hope all goes well.

What did Penny, think of that earthquake?

Oh Yuck, that is not a good night. I'll be thinking about you and your friend.
I wouldn't try cutting, or sewing with no sleep. Not the safest activity in the world.

I am drinking a gallon of coffee now because I am in the same boat as you. Not a nice way to wake up! My girls all slammed against me to save them. What did Penny do?

I hope your friend is well. What a shock, the earthquake! It might have kept you awake too, feeling the vibrations somehow.

So sorry about your lo-o-on-g night. Will keep your friend in my prayers. NO!!! don't cut fabric on no sleep. I did that a week ago Sunday and cut off a piece of my finger.

Oh wow, scary! Wonder if the atmospheric conditions were keeping you awake? Hope you can catch up on your rest.

There are times when you just shouldn't pick up a rotary cutter. I think this is one of them. Prayers for your friend.

Hubby and I both sat up in bed at 4:03 or something like that, we just heard the house groaning a little, I laid there for a few minutes to see if anything more happened then fell back asleep. I woke up to a dream that we were in a park with a lake and I said to hubby in my dream, what the heck are we doing at Legg Lake? Then I woke up, checked about the earthquake and saw it was centered in Whittier Narrows where Legg Lake is. Ok, I better go buy a lottery ticket!

OMG! First, I'm so sorry you couldn't sleep. That has to be so horrible . . knowing you have to get up and go to work. It is so time for you to move away from there!
