Well, no one guessed everything right, but almost everyone got at least one thing. I put all the names in the bowl and the winner of the $50 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop is:
JILL at Ramblings of a Fabric and Yarn Obsessor. Congrats, Jill. Penny said that Maisy and Max have to help you poke buttons on your order!
Two boxes = 45.58 yards. Sheesh ..... I have a lot of busting to do in the next few weeks!
The two kits are - Scattered Stars and Lumiere de Noel. I was only going to get one of them, but I knew I'd regret not getting the other. They both look like they'll be a ton of fun to make!
The two towers are - Lumiere de Noel cotton and Lumiere de Noel wovens.
The two "groups" of unusual or different (for me) are - (1) the light and dark wool bundles and (2) Lumiere de Noel ribbons. I picked up the dots and the "je t'aime" ones. Couldn't resist those. Have no clue what I'll use them for, but I have them now! :)
On the busting side, another 31.75 yards went in the box for charity quilts. I think that box is going to turn into two boxes! I'd best get it mailed out before it turns into three!
Year to Date:
Busted: 232.625 yards
Purchased: 279.705 yards
Net YTD: (47.08) yards busted :(

That Does It!
Penny no longer has use of my debit card!
What am I going to do? I know! Let's have a guessing contest!
I'll give out these hints, but only these hints, so no amount of sweet-talking, bribing, or groveling will get you any more info:
There are two kits contained in these boxes. And there are two towers in the boxes. And then there are two groups of unusual or different (for me) kinds of items in the boxes. No, it's not another bolt of cheddar! I promise!
The person who guesses all six things exactly will win a $100 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop. If more than one person guesses all six things correctly, we'll draw a name from those folks for that gift certificate. After I investigate if you bribed Kimberly and staff to get the correct answers! :)
Everyone who guesses at least one of the things in these boxes will be put into the hat for another drawing for a $50 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop. How hard can guessing one thing correctly be?
Let's have the drawing at 3:00 pm California time on Sunday 6/27/10. Remember - I have to be able to get in touch with you if you're a winner. So be sure to link to your blog, or leave an email address if you're not a blogger or you are an anonymous commenter.
And after the drawing, I'll have to make my stash report for the week. I'm not looking forward to that.
Bad Penny!!

Katy's Hope 5 Raffle Quilt
Last month I was the lucky winner of a raffle quilt for Katy's Hope. Katy is Perry's beautiful granddaughter and has cystic fibrosis. Each year a raffle is held to raise money for CF research.
The quilt is gorgeous. It's called "Patches and Posies" and was donated by Vicki Bellino of Bloom Creek. Vicki designed, pieced and even quilted this beautiful quilt. I feel so lucky to have this quilt in my collection! Thank you, Vicki. I will cherish it forever.
I would like to thank Judy Laquidara who also donated a quilt for the raffle. Thank you, Judy! You and Vicki are so wonderful and were so generous!
I've lost the link to the donations page, but perhaps Perry will put it back up on her blog. I plan to make periodic donations this year, and would urge everyone to consider a donation also. No matter how large or small, every single donation will go so far to buy meds for these children and give each of them hope.

Stash Report 2010 - Week 25
I just can't break even. Two steps forward, one back. Oh, well, I'm getting there.
This week I stuck 10 more yards in the box going to a friend for charity quilts.
But ... there's always a "but" at the LA Quilter household, isn't there?
I picked up four yards of Durham Anew by Brenda Riddle, and two yards of Bar Harbor backgrounds at the Fat Quarter Shop.
And one more thing I need to report, speaking of Minick & Simpson -- a very sweet, dear, wonderful, smart, beautiful, skinny friend who went to Market sent me a tower of (GASP!) the new Clermont Farms line! OMG, I was hyperventilating when I opened that box! Ten more yards in, but who cares! I've been fondling and petting it since it arrived! Thank you thank you thank you! I won't embarrass you by saying your name here, but you know who you are! Seriously, if I can EVER do ANYTHING for you, EVER, ANYTHING, just ask! Well, you can't have Penny - and I guess I can't give you my first-born child since I don't have one - but anything else, it's yours!
I actually had other stuff arrive this week, but they were gifts for someone so I'm not counting them. Whew!
Yesterday Penny and I spent the day at Skippy's house. We celebrated Jane's sweet DH's birthday in style with wonderful food, a birthday cake, and the pups had a blast! Penny slept the entire way home. She was actually snoring! When I carried her into the house, she walked straight into her kennel and went back to sleep! She's such a weenie! :)
Today I'm going to work on the Celebration quilt, and I must muck out my sewing room and probably the refrigerator. Wanta bet I don't get to the latter?

Pennsylvania Dutch BOM #8 Winner
I still can't believe Month 8 is done already! I can't wait to get this quilt put together! Only four more months to go!
Penny was way too tired tonight to draw the name for the $25 gift certificate from the Fat Quarter Shop. She and Skippy ran themselves ragged playing today, so I had to do the honors. (She's snoring right now!)
This month's winner of the $25 gift certificate is Carol!
Congratulations, Carol. I'll get your gift certificate off to you in the morning! Please be sure to post what you buy!!
Once again, a huge THANK YOU to Kimberly and Kevin at the Fat Quarter Shop for providing the monthly gift certificates. I'm looking and looking trying to decide which of their new BOMs I'm going to sign up for next! Hmmmm.....

Stash Report 2010 - Week 24
Nothing in - nothing out. That's okay. I'd call it a good week!
Year-to-Date Totals:
Busted: 190.875 yards
Purchased: 218.125 yards
Net YTD: (27.25) yards busted :(
However, I did get EQ7 installed last week, and yesterday I went through all the video tutorials. Today I need to get printer ink and then I'll print off the lessons. I'm really anxious to learn more. I couldn't wait last night, so I started a "test quilt." Selected one block, flipped it around to get a secondary design, and colored it. LOL, the colors are awful - green, burgundy, light blue, tan. I was just playing, but darn it, that color combination was starting to appeal to me by the end of the exercise! I need to do the lessons to figure out the borders, but this much was fun! Thank you, Judy, for pushing me off the cliff -- no, that's not right -- encouraging me to try it!
Also managed yesterday to do my Pennsylvania Dutch BOM block, and to finish all the blocks made for the Celebration quilt I started on Memorial Day weekend. Just need to sew those rows together and get the borders on. Also finished the last binding on the last quilt I had piled up. So progress is being made here.
UPDATE: Well, I just created another UFO. That was easy! In sewing the Celebration rows together, I see that I sewed all the yellow blocks wrong, so those will have to be taken apart. Someday. (sigh)

Pennsylvania Dutch BOM Block 8
Pennsylvania Dutch BOM is moving right along. We're already at Month 8. Wow, time flies when you're having fun!
This block was so easy, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I'd like a two-color quilt made from these blocks.
The drawing for the $25 gift certificate from the Fat Quarter Shop will be held on Saturday, 6/19/10 at around 7:00 pm California time. To be eligible for the drawing, you must leave a comment here with a link to your blog where you have posted a picture of your block. If you don't have a blog, just email me a picture of it to be entered in the drawing. It's that easy! EDIT: Penny and I are going to play with Skippy, so we probably won't be home at 7:00. But I will do the drawing tonight! :)
I haven't poked any significant buy buttons lately, but I sure have been window shopping at the Fat Quarter Shop! I can't wait for Scrap Basket Surprises Club to start, the Prairie Women's Sewing Circle, and the 2010 Designer Mystery BOM ... just to name a few! I've signed up for other BOMs and Clubs -- well, I did! I couldn't help it! -- so it's going to be a busy year ahead! Can't wait!
Kimberly, thank you again and again for sponsoring the monthly give-aways for the Pennsylvania Dutch BOM participants! You are totally awesome!

Stash Report 2010 - Week 23
I know, I know, it's not Sunday yet. But I'm just so excited I'm about to pop wide open. I spent several hours in the stash room last week and decided that a bunch of things just had to go. We had a give-away here, and I did another couple of give-aways with the guild. Then a box was filled for Judy to make her gorgeous charity quilts. I have more to send her, but one box is going out this weekend. I just hope this doesn't mess up her stash report!! I'd say free fabric for charity quilts shouldn't count, should it, Judy? ;) All totaled, 64.25 yards busted.
The Fig Tree Club from the Fat Quarter Shop arrived, plus some other stuff, so it was 9.625 yards added.
I'm binding for the rest of the weekend. This Scrap Basket Surprises quilt is going to hang in Ginger's. The other needs to be mailed off to my special little friend in Baton Rouge. If I can get both of those done this weekend, I'm totally caught up on bindings!
Penny likes it!
