Valentiney Box

This box has been sitting here all week, and I just got around to opening it.

I know, I know, I vowed I wasn't going to show purchases any more, but I couldn't help snapping a picture of this box.

Doesn't it conjure up images of Valentine's Day? All that luscious Rouenneries Deux - red and cream with just a touch of gray in it!

Something about French General is so romantic. Maybe it's because it's French inspired. After all, Paris is THE city for lovers.

That bolt in the back -- I couldn't resist getting a whole bolt. I can back two or three French General quilts with it.

Kimberly at the Fat Quarter Shop helped me shop for this box of goodies! I was determined to order it one day but got too busy to get my shopping done. One quick email to her and she hopped right in and did the deed for me! Thanks, Kimberly!

I love the packaging by the Fat Quarter Shop. Everything is folded so neatly and tucked into plastic bags. I recently ordered a piece of yardage from another online store, and was dismayed when it came practically wadded up in a box. I guess I've been spoiled by Kimberly and her staff!!

Opening this box this morning made me feel much better!

That box looks yummy! I made a quilt out of the first Rouenneries collection and it's one of my favourites. Any plans for it yet?

What a beautiful box and I agree on buying the bolt. If you have a few quilts in mind, get it now for backings because it will be gone when you get to it. So sorry to hear about your tumble, I've done that before so I count the steps every time I have things in my arms. Good thing both sets have the same number at my house ;-)

Like Kathie---I have gotten excited about grey (a color I once never even thought about using in a quilt). I think red is a neutral :c)---another quilt added to my "to do" list! Glad you are feeling better!

Just gorgeous! And why on earth i haven't bought a whole bolt of luscious fabrics especially the kind you know you'll love for years and years is beyond me. I love seeing your treats, if I blogged I'd show you mine. But this week it was mostly Amazon, old BBC mysteries and season 2 of hart to hart...all lovely company while I'm sewing. Hope you're not to sore today.

Beautiful fabric, love the gray/red combo. Which pattern did you buy an entire box of? It looks very pretty and practical for backs.
