Thank you

Thank you to all who have emailed me wondering about the fires here.

I'm fine. I am not near any of the fires, but they are burning all around. The smoke is brutal, at work especially. The town where I work is the lowest point of our valley, and the "bowl" is filled with smoke. Yesterday when I walked out at the end of the day, it looked like it was snowing. Big white/gray flakes were coming down, and the cars in the parking lot were covered in ash.

My eyes have been watering like crazy for a couple of days, and last night I was officially all stuffed up. I think I'm having a reaction to the bad air here.

The Santa Ana winds were supposed to have died down last night, which will help those poor folks in harm's way and the brave firefighters who are fighting the beastly flames. That means cooler temps, too. It was 91 at lunchtime yesterday. We need this break.

Many thanks for your concern. Please keep our state in your prayers.

I'm glad to hear you're okay, Vicky--I've been thinking of you and the other LA area bloggers. I hope they're able to get a handle on some of those blazes today. Stay safe!

You're right, the smoke and ash is pretty bad. It's not as bad today as it was last night when I went home. Although, this morning I could smell the smoke in the air more than yesterday at my house.

Vicky the ash is much better here today too. I saw very little fluttering around. Now if we could get some of those real snowflakes. Wouldn't that be nice. I better be careful what I wish for right? LOL!!! By the way, anyone see that full moon hanging around up there? WHOA BABY!!

Vicky, I have been worrying about you among others knowing your basic location in the state but just had not commented yet. Glad and Miss Daisy are safe but sad to hear that others were not so lucky. No state in the Union is immune from natural disaster, of course but man, this is awful.

laughed at your comment about the "stupid pine trees". been there, done that. i usually hide my mistakes in the back of the closet; occasionally dig them out and then stuff them back thinking that someday i will try to fix them. nahhh. love your christmas BOM; the cookies in the bowl look like three men in a tub! glad u are okay in your neck of the "woods". must have been so frightening.
