Well, got the bindings machine sewn on four of the nine that needed them. Not bad for a Sunday morning. I might do one more now, and then I'm pretty much done for the day. I have LOTS of hand work to keep me busy for a while!
I decided to do two more before I pooped out for the day. Sitting at the machine putting binding on six quilts in one day has my shoulders all knotted.
Oh, yeah, Penny was a BIG help!

You did good today. Five bindings sewn down. Pretty soon they will be done and finished and you can cross them off your list.
I'm setting hand work aside until the Winter Olympics starts. I know I can get plenty done then while I watch the events on tv.
The binding is sure the least favorite part to me, I have about 4 of them that need bindings. My hubby wanted me to hange one of the finished ones really bad in the stairwell last week and I can't believe I put the binding on that puppy and hand sewed it down in a couple of hours, I was pretty impressed with myself until I realized I machine sewed it to the wrong side...doh! Oh well, no one will know but me. Kudos on 6!
Good for you. I quilted a table runner last night and today put the binding on, now to sit and do the hand sewing. My fav part of making a quilt, well, next to crossing it off my "to finish" list!
WOW. Good job, I never would have lasted for that many. Hopefully you have some nice TV time planned to sew them down.
And how was Penny a "big help"?? ROFL She looks SO innocent laying there! NOT!! I love the hand sewing part of bindings, it is relaxing to me. Just wish I had a few more to do!
That is a lot of binding attached! Good job. I have a stack of small quilts waiting for the hand sewing of the binding that I'm saving for the Olympics. I have 2 large quilts that still need the binding made so I need to get going on those to have those ready for the Olympics as well. I hate making the binding, but love sewing it down by hand.
I am so proud of you!!! I have been thinking of declaring a binding week just to force me to sew on the 3 I have bindings ready for.
Lori in S Dakota....how far are you from Iowa, I will bring mine to you!
Yep, she looks exhausted from helping you do those bindings! How do people who don't have doggies ever manage to complete a quilt??
oh, and if you get too busy---just mail Penny to me!! She and I could entertain each other for a while.
LOL Penny looks like one tired pup, but there she is, hard at work 'guarding' your quilts. gotta love a dog who's always on the job!
That IS an accomplishment! Good job! Wish I was so industrious!
Congrats!!! Sewing on borders and bindings is like my least favorite thing to do. But at least now you have some hand work and that will be nice to do a little bit of when you get home from work and need to relax!
Love how helpful Penny was! That is about how helpful Max and Maisy are in my house! Of course, Max thinks that his rightful spot is sitting in my lap and when I am on the floor sitting cross legged, he will circle me until he sees an opening and then he leaps. But he is so cute that I can't deny him the love and then I'm stuck with a 9 pound growth and I can't do anything else! lol
Great job on the bindings!
Sewing on the bindings is my least favorite part of quilting. I just have one to do right now and I keep putting it off. I'm going to do it today for sure. You've inspired me!!!
Wow, that is a lot of sitting and tugging, no wonder you are in knots! I had a record day Sunday of cutting and piecing a backing for a baby quilt, sandwiching, quilting, binding and labeling it--all in one day! Luckily I only had occasional visits from pets to my sewing room who didn't interrupt (2 cats and a dog!)
I am truly impressed! I have cats that are as helpful as Penny! :0)
Glad you had good help! I loved binding...relaxing for me. Your quilts are beautiful!
Wow Vicky...you hit it hard!! Awesome! My neck hurts just thinking about it! I see Penny was TONS of help...tee, hee.
LOL....Penny looks so comfortable. And...you go girl getting so much accomplished!!!
