Stash Report 2010 - Week 20

I left a comment this morning on someone's blog, and my word verification was "precut." Guess where this report is going.

Precuts - what can I say except that it really is all Moda's fault!

Anyway, these came home to roost this week.

That's two jelly rolls, three layer cakes and six charm packs. Wow, it sure adds up - one teeny little box ... of precuts ... 17.75 yards.

I also received the most adorable Flutter By Me kit as a winning from Jere'e and Miss Gidget at Quilted Quickies. I'm going to say it's a yard total. Thank you, Jere'e. I've left it out on my cutting table to do soon! Jere'e designs the cutest patterns!

The hole has been dug so deeply that I won't climb my way out of it this year. I guess I'll still keep reporting because who knows. It may happen yet.

Head on over to Judy's blog to see the successes others are having. There surely aren't any here!

Year-to-Date Totals:

Busted: 104.125 yards
Purchased: 204.50 yards
Net YTD: (100.375) yards busted :(

UPDATE: Well, so much for finishing up Rabbits Prefer Embroidery today. I ran out of red floss, and I cut one block too small so will have to do that one over. Ugh!!

UPDATE X2: Okay, so I was able to salvage the tulip block by sewing a slightly smaller seam. But still can't finish the last block until I get more of that color floss.

Ok NOW I hate you lol.
Those are soooo gorgeous!
I think I could be happy having at least half of all my fabric being French General from now on.

If I would have come across this fabric, I would have done even more damage...absolutely beautiful. But then, I bet you will be using those very soon and we will see a reduction to the stash.

How could you resist? They're beauutiful! You still have time to dig out of your hole this year if you sew like a mad woman!

Fantastic fabric! That is some WOW stuff!
As for your stashbusting...so you are not in the black but I think the hole you are in is MUCH shallower than last year! That is progress! And yeah, you could end up in the black!

THAT'S why you were asking the amounts of precuts the other week?!?! ;0) DO NOT give up...you can still keep make a goal of not going more than 100 in the hole! Keep working at it.

That fabric is sooooo wonderful, who could resist? Don't beat yourself up. You have blown 100+ yards out of your stash. As far as I'm concerned that ain't bad. So more has followed you home. You have given those poor homeless fabrics a safe place to live where they are loved and appreciated. I think you should rescue even more fabric. You have found your purpose in life. Way to go!

don't worry about the hole, it's YOUR hole! Enjoy doing what you do.

ok, so don't think of it as 'stash busting' anymore.
you are planning your retirement stash now, so it makes perfect sense to both work on what you can from your 'present stash' as well as to hoard for your "retirement stash". So you actually have two different stashes. *S*
does that make it any easier? it does for me!

I know why you had to buy these precuts they are just beautiful and if I didn't have a BIG college tuition bill to pay in July I would be ordering YARDS of this line too.
maybe a charm pack and make a little quilt is in my future :)

good luck changing those numbers around and decreasing your stash this year.
just keep thinking about how much its going to cost you to move it back home to LA when you move home after you retire !

Ack....my stash report is about the same, lots of Half Moon precuts came to live in my house this week and I didn't sew a thing. So far I have been resisting the lure of Luminere.
