My emotions are in a turmoil this week. It's no wonder.
The anniversary of my dad's death is this week. It's been so many years, 37, but seems like yesterday. Daisy died this week last year. Her birthday would have been this week.
And Penny came home to live with me this week last year.
We've been bonding here lately. I feed her, take care of her, and she helps me do embroidery. A fair trade, I think.
And her new thing - she absolutely refuses to look at me when I have the camera in my hands! Yep, terrible twos!

Vicky, I've been thinking about you this week and wondering how you were doing. It's understandably a rough week for you. When you lost Daisy last year I was heartbroken for you and the dates of both her birthday and her passing had significance for me as well. I had also lost a beloved pet, a cat, on May 9th in 2005, and Tyrone, the cat that ended up replacing her, was born on May 14, 2005 so they each shared a date with Daisy. I'm so glad that you were able to get Penny to help fill the void left by Daisy. Big hugs to you. Laura
Here's a hug to ya.... since it was Mother's Day this past week, I have also been feeling sad, thinking about my mom...
Penny is a cutie and a keeper - may you have many long years with her!

Hugs for you...
The anniversary of our loved one's passing is so hard no matter how many years have gone by. I also know how much you loved and miss , Daisy.
It's hard to believe that Penny, is a year old. She is so cute even when she refuses to look at the camera.
Sending some prayers your way.
Sending tons of good thoughts...it's hard to believe that Penny is already a year old...look at her...Little Miss Personality! What a cutie pie!
hugs to you...and Penny just wants you to get her best side...
Thank God for Penny! May you have many, many happy healthy years with her. {hugs}
Vicky...my thoughts are with you! I can't even image what you are going through losing your Dad...time doesn't heal that wound no matter how long. Big Hugs!!! I think Daisy is the reason I found you in blogland. I had lost my Daisy too...she was a little mutt who stole my heart. I was super depressed and my husband and mother begged me to get another dog within three weeks of losing Daisy. I found Gidget and was new to the whole blog thing and I saw your Daisy's avatar and clicked on your blog. Your blog was the connection I needed at the time. You had a Daisy who was a Doxie and I had a Daisy and had just adopted a Doxie. I have to say...little Penny is cracking me up in this photo...not looking at the camera. Have you tried giving her treats before taking a photo? I do it with Gidget and she somewhat cooperates. The other thing I used to do is make a high pitched noise and Gidget would look at me like I was loosing my mind...but at least she looked at the camera. Take care friend!!
Just wait until she's a crazy three and will only make silly faces at the camera :)
{big hugs}
Losing a pet is very difficult. I had to put our cat to sleep yesterday...first time I had to be the person making that hard decision. Glad you have a sweet dog in your life again.
Sending you lots of hugs! This too shall pass; just take care of you and Miss Penny. Appreciate all of your help with the CF raffle. XX00XX
Sending lots of hugs your way!
She's a cutie!
At least she's not doing the late childhood/early teenage boy grimace. We have lot's of pictures with that type of smile. :-)

What an emotional week you are having! Try to keep busy and know that all of us out here in Blogland are thinking about you!
Take care,
Tricia
Yup...terrible twos, but she is still adorable. By the way, your redwork embroidery is beautiful!
How funny Penny not looking at you! And some dates you never forget.
I have been a big fan of Penny ever since I found her on your blog last year! Sending my hugs to both of you...
Vicky, You've had a hard week, huh? I hope you find time for relaxing and doing something fun this weekend. I'm glad I got to meet sweet Daisy and I'm happy Penny is in your life now.
Bailey (who often does the same thing as Penny when I point a camera at him. . . I think it was the flash. . .) says to take the quilt named after him & wrap it all around you - so that he (& me too!) can give you a big (((hug))) !
xo, Bren
