Stash Report 2010 - Week 34

Head on over to Judy's Patchwork Times to see what real quilters do with their stashes! My stash is just hibernating. Nothing in, nothing out again this week. I guess I'm not a real quilter!

I don't know what's wrong with me lately. I've filled up my cart at the Fat Quarter Shop at least twice and then forgot about it. Kimberly is going to think I've abandoned her!! Hello, Kimberly? Remember me?

I'm so glad this sort of thing doesn't count on Judy's stash report, but I ordered some dies for my cutter, and yesterday I ordered a counted cross stitch kit from ehandcrafts.com. I'm going to start with one of the Anniversaries of the Heart by Blackbird Designs. Probably way over my head, but I'll do it! It will just have to be my learning piece.

This year I had a short list of a few things I want to learn or reacquaint myself on doing. One was embroidery. I got that small Rabbits Prefer Embroidery by Anne Sutton at BunnyHill done earlier this year. Although I have a lot more to learn, at least I know I can do it. Second on my list was counted cross stitch, so that stuff is ordered. The last thing is hand quilting. I read all of Laurie Simpson's tutorials at the Minick & Simpson blog, and I'm going to jump in and give it a whirl. I have several small tops here on which I can practice. So at least I'm trying to get through my list this year. Next year I'll work more on these three things. Oh, and quilting!

I have packages in the back of the QuiltMobile that need mailing. If I owe you one, they'll go to UPS today. Sorry, but it seems like every spare moment was in the dental chair these past two weeks.

So my numbers have not changed:

Year-To-Date:

Busted: 298.75 yards
Purchased: 372.055 yards
Net YTD: (73.305) yards busted :(

There's always next week. Hey, we have a long weekend coming up. Maybe I can get a couple of backings done and get those off to the quilter! I feel a bust coming on!

I was in the dentist chair last week too . . . it was not a pretty scene either, but I have lived to tell about it! Hopefully your quilting mojo will return after viewing tomorrows Design Wall Monday posts!

You could say that your stash is just marinating... Or aging to perfection like the rest of us! lol

Good job on working on the rest of your goals for the year! Any effort is progress, I say! :)

well hope fully your out of the dentist chair till next year.
I think your going to Love hand quilting
its so relaxing and once you baste the quilt (ok I send mine out to a long armer and have them basted, need to save those knees and back!) its easy to add a few rows a day or a few motifs a night...
can't wiat to see your progress!

you forgot your orders in your basket?? And Penny didn't push the button? Dentist chair, I hate to be sitting there.

I think you are dealing with a lingering side effect from your illness. That is the only thing that would explain having stuff in your basket and not pushing the button. Lay down and rest and exercise your finger. It will be strong enough soon.

I hope you enjoy the counted cross stitch! It is my only other hobby after quilting. I haven't done any in a while. I should really finish my cross stitch wedding sampler now that my 6th anniversary is next month! Sorry about your dental problems - I had an emergency visit myself last week. No fun!

You are a real quilter. Life happens for real quilters, too. Hope that you are over all the dental stuff. That can put a real cramp in quilting. Hope this week is a good one for you!

Hi there stranger. Decided I needed to check in on you and see what you were up to. Read backwards for several posts but saw nothing about arm surgery. You are ok now? I think you may have reached the same stage I did with my stash, just didn't know where to start, but I have finally gotten started again. Take care of yourself!

Yes there is that long weekend coming up and you may be able to take advantage of it. Just stay out of that dentist chair and in your quilting chair.
