Stash Report 2011 - Week 14

Thank you all for your nice comments on yesterday's post. I'm still in awe every time I open that case of Aurifil!

I posted a lot this week when I didn't think I'd post at all. The sad fact is I'm waiting on others to finish up some things before my marathon work begins with a mad dash to the finish line. I think I'll be going in today - if I get the call that they're ready for me. I'm positive Penny won't be seeing too much of me next week.

The QuiltMobile is really sick. She'll be at the dealership repair shop for at least a week. They have to tear apart the engine to try to find out what's wrong. I advised them that I want guarantees that it won't conk out and leave me stranded again, and that they must give me at minimum a one-year warranty on the work. This is a 2008 model. I really hope it's fixable because I was planning on driving her a couple of more years. Good thing she's still under warranty because this would have been expensive!! If I'm not comfortable with it, then I'll go back to my previous make. I know that brand is reliable!

The stash report -- ewww. I'm up and down here. If I knew I wasn't going to have to work yesterday, I would have started cutting out the Brrr Park quilt by Minick & Simpson that I want on my bed for Christmas. That would have put me almost in the positive. Oh, well....

Incoming - a jelly roll of Lily & Will by Anne Sutton of Bunnyhill Designs. Yes, I know I bought a lot of it a few weeks ago, but I forgot to get an aqua jelly roll. I discovered that when I was putting it all away.

Incoming - the first shipment of the Prairie Women's Sewing Circle club from the Fat Quarter Shop! All I can say is WOW! Gorgeous fabrics!

2011 Totals:

Busted: 156.37 yards
Purchased: 177.405 yards
Net YTD: (21.05) yards busted :(

I guess it could have been a lot worse. We could be counting thread, too! :)

I saw that sewing circle project and wanted to do it but I don't belong so I guess I am out of the loop on this one. Happy sewing. I am not a thread gal but I can imagine if you are, it has to be just as great as petting fabric.

Hope you don't have too much stress at work and find some time to sew - or at least ooh & aah at your latest thread!

Sorry about the quilt machine. It is only 3 years old. I would still be expecting several years.

The sewing circle projects are beautiful! That will be fun.

I'm in the Prairie Womens Sewing Circle too, I got my kit as well. I love getting these kits but I'm so behind on getting them sewn together. Your box of thread is awesome, what a great birthday gift to yourself.

I am TOTALLY PEA GREEN with envy at your Aurifil thread case. Good for you. You won't regret it; it's so lovely to applique with.
And looking at all those lovely colors at once would make me smile too.
Enjoy!

Hope you can keep steady with all the work you have going on, Remember, One person, one head and 2 hands. And you need to use those two hands for some stitching in the stressful & busy times. Love the Brr pattern, good luck with your timeline, it's good to have a goal with a pattern like that.

That's not too bad at all!! Good luck with the Quilt Mobile. I had a lot of work done on my car before heading to Florida. Makes me sick! They were supposed to fix the steering wheel that squeaks when it turns.... Still squeaks. UGH!

Thank goodness the Quilt Mobile is under warranty! I hope they gave you a nice loaner. :-) I love the sewing circle project! Good thing I didn't know about it earlier, I would've gotten into some trouble with DH. ;-) lol Hope your week goes smoothly!

Oh, so much fun catching up on your blog. A 2008 car conked out? UGH The thread--I oohed and ahhhhed with you. I could have opened and shut that case and put it near the bed when I slept! A good chuckle on how you are "linked" to the quilting industry. Titanium sewing needles maybe??

Looks like you have gotten some fun new things. Sorry about your car. My Saturn has 158,000 miles and is still going strong!

Hope your work life calms down soon. Makes it hard to start something if you don't know how long you can work at it.

I don't usually care for reproduction fabrics, but the fabrics in your sewing circle kit have such pretty jewel tones! I'm very surprised at them - in a good way!
