I was going to list out a bunch of quilts I want to make in 2014, but I'm so wishy-washy sometimes on what I feel like doing. So I'll pick as I go. I decided once I've finished up James River Blues, that I've earned the right to start a new quilt! "Earned"? LOL. Okay, I've made a deal with myself. Finish up an old UFO and you can start a new quilt!
After much going back and forth, I decided to do "Hurrah" by Minick & Simpson!
When I first saw the pattern unveiled at Market, I knew I wanted to make it!
I have a stash chock full of Minick & Simpson fabric. I'm so funny sometimes - I don't want to use a particular fabric because then I won't have it any more. Does anyone else do that? But no more!!
So 2014 will be a stash year. I think M&S is a great way to start!

I love this pattern and I do the same thing. Now I use those fabrics in projects that I'm keeping and i've been very happy with the outcome. That way you really get to enjoy the fabrics that you love!
That's a great pattern. The good part about using some of your favorite fabrics you'll actually see it more in a quilt than on a shelf. I'm into busting my stash as well.
Loving your plans for 2014. Just do what makes you happy.
I made a basic list of quilts I'd like to make in 2014. However, since I fly by the seat of my pants I'm just planning to sew. LOL
Sounds like a great plan! Those fabrics look wonderful too. :-) I'm a 'seat of pants' planner too. LOL Have a happy week!
Love the plan! I wrote mine out a few weeks ago and I have already decided to change the list! Don't know if it's an add on or will replace something on my original list but have decided I need to make Julie's Lotus. Think it was showing it folks all weekend long...or maybe Daybreak....hmm?
Love your pattern choice for the next quilt. I make no lists ahead because I am never sure what type of quilt I would like to work on next. Also, sometimes something comes up that needs a quilt.I need the freedom to do what makes me happy in the moment. I am getting better about using those favorite fabrics. I too figure I will enjoy them more in a quilt.
Love the pattern and can't wait to see it come together! I hate to cut into certain fabrics too...like my Midwinter Reds that are waiting for inspiration...
Anything M&S is fabulous. I think I'll follow your example. I am working on two projects I have to get done. Then I can't start anything new until I finish a UFO.
What a great quilt...I do the same thing...save those favorites so I don't run out...but when I do use them in a quilt it makes me so happy..I have a huge basket of Minnick & Simpson that I'm saving...don't know what for but I'll figure it out one day...LOL! Enjoy your project!
I do the same thing with my favorites, you're not the only one!! Just decided what to do with some Japanese fabric that a friend gave to me years ago, and now I can't cut it fast enough! I love your new pattern, can't wait to see what it's going to look like, hope you post photos please!
