Making Progress

I could have pressed the darn thing before I took a picture, huh? LOL.

I started trying to figure out how to lay out the appliqued scallop border tonight, and I'm just too tired. I'll play with it on Sunday. Real ready to get this one to the quilter - so I can get the embellishments on it! :)

Tonight I figured out something else on applique. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've never used the Clover bias tape maker before. I bought every size that existed when I first started quilting, and I'm sure they're all packed up in one of those boxes in the garage. At the big quilt show in January I bought a couple of more. Then the pink/brown quilt needed a size I didn't have, so I picked up another one. Tonight was the time to figure out how to use them!

Boy, is that ever a snap! Much easier than using the bias bars! I made miles of vines tonight in like 55 seconds! Just a vine-making machine over here! I can't believe I've been doing it the hard way all these years! The story of my life!

The quilt is looking terrific! It's always kinda cool to learn to use a new (or never used by you) tool! Way to go!

Wow, oh Wow! It is always fun to see all the blocks come together! And - sometimes you just don't use a tool until you realize how easy/perfect it really is to use - glad to hear that you are making vines like crazy!!! LOL.
Cheers!

It's so sweet, Vicky! Like you, I've been using the bias bars and ignoring the bias makers in the drawer. Sigh - someday I'll take time to figure them out. LOL

I've watched with interest as you were making this quilt and I almost ordered the BOM myself because it's so pretty, but talked myself out of it only because of the amount of stash and WIPs and UFOs I already have here. I can't wait to see it when it's quilted and bound! I just love it.

That quilt is just wonderful! And like a few other gals, I also have those bias makers 'somewhere' and have no idea how to use them and/or for what. Somehow I'm getting them mixed up with binding makers, which I don't even know what those are? Hey, we need another class!

The quilt is looking very cute. I have used those bias makers a lot, they are a nifty gadget to have.

I love seeing all the blocks together -- pressed or not (g). It's a good looking quilt! I too have a scalloped border to figure out -- I think I'll watch and see how you handle yours first.

What a beautiful quilt! Yes, I love the bias tape makers, too. I don't think Clover makes anything I don't like! I want to get some of those Clover fork pins next...I'm waiting on my LQS to order some!

Can't wait to see your border--wow! This one may see Christmas this year, eh? Good for you!

Making progress, I'll say! That is going to be one super cute quilt when you get it finished. Can't wait to see the completed quilt. :)

Wow, your quilt looks good. I just saw this quilt pattern somewhere in my wanderings through quilt shops on the internet.

I'm thinking I should call dibbies on that. It's gonna be so cool when it is done.

This looks terrific! So share with us a tutorial on these wonderful gadgets. I have never ordered them either, and I totally dislike the bias bars, lol.
