Box!!

I'm like a kid in a candy store when I come home and find a box on my doorstep! I was poking order buttons one night - again! http://www.fatquartershop.com/ rules!

The Jelly Rolls are so neat. I'm kind of late getting on the bandwagon, but I'm trying to make up for lost time. These are Celebrate Spring by Sandy Gervais, Roman Holiday by 3 Sisters, and my favorite, Madeira by Blackbird Designs.

The patterns are Candy Cane Lane by Bunny Hill Designs, It's a Wrap by Pieces from My Heart, Jelly Braids by Calico Printworks, Wild Goose Chase by Whistlepig Creek Productions, and Roman Holiday by Swatches Pattern Co.

The books are Happy Hour by Atkinson Designs and Comfort & Joy by Acorn Quilts. Also a couple of yards of fish for the border of a string quilt I've got in the planning stages.

That's it for me. I was going to say 'for this month' -- lol. I decided one thing a couple of weeks ago. I work all the time, come home to my empty house and the Daisy dog, and have only one friend nearby to visit with on a regular basis. Quilty stuff is what makes me happy. If I never make a single thing out of any of this, just the pure joy of having it is enough. There, I've said it!

~ Hearing from a dear friend today via email! ILY!

~ Trying a new bar of hand made goat's milk soap! Heavenly! Thank you, B!!

Oh my gosh, I'm as bad as you. I order stuff and have it shipped to my office so I can immediately get it when it arrives, not having to wait until I get home. And I absolutely love, love, love the Fat Quarter Shop. She has been the recipient of a lot of my money. If you like scrap grab bags, you need to order one of hers, they're the best! She doesn't have them all the time, but when she does, they're fun!

Second comment . . . I just had to go look at the Fat Quarter Shop website! Guess what I ordered? One of her grab bags, but now she has 12 pound scrap grab bags! Oh my gosh, her 3 lb. ones were great, I just had to get one! Shame on me! Between my quilting and knitting, I'm going to go broke!

Well, finally! This is all about having fun and we shouldn't have to justify what we buy to anyone. Just have fun, Vicky!!!!!

Lots and lots of great goodies in that box. I'm coming to play with you. :)

Oh my -- what lovely purchases! I am loving the Roman Holiday fabrics, but I'm working with the Holly Jolly line by Sandy Gervais right now and it's such fun!

What fun! I'm with Darlene...enjoy your treats and you don't have to explain to anyone. I told someone the other day...some people collect stamps and never use them...some people collect soda bottles and never drink the soda...we collect fabric, patterns and books...we enjoy them, we use some, we love it and that's all that matters.

Oh.... Don't you just love mail, even if you set it up yourself! lol Lots of wonderful goodies you purchased for yourself. I bought the Comfort and Joy book. So many quilts I want to make from it! Thanks for sharing!

Now that's a nice collection of goodies if I've ever seen one. I'm glad I'm not the only one doing the buying/ordering thing lately. I can't seem to stop myself.

Way to go Vicky! Nice haul! Now I will be watching to see if you "giterdun". Ha! (Hey, no rush from me-I am into collecting more than completing).

Dear Vicky: Next time you're cleaning out your stash, in the event you are overcome with feelings of guilt, please do two things: (1) Go back and read this post; and (2) If you're still feeling a bit guilty and think it would help, I'd be happy to give you my address so you can get rid of whatever you don't want! LOL! Actually, my LQS has a FQ sale tomorrow morning, so I'll probably be there, with my nose pressed against the glass door at 9:50 a.m., chanting "open, open, open." They also have yardage of the Roman Holiday line, so guess what I think I'll be coming home with?! LOL!

I love all the patterns you got. Ohh, isn't it fun to get a box of quilt shop goodies! The best.
And like you said, if you never make anything from them, they are still great to look at and have around.
I also love the online fat quarter shop. Great stuff.
Have fun and enjoy your patterns and fabrics.
Ohhh and btw, after seeing your pattern for the table runner and holly jolly fab., I'm now waiting on my quilt shop to get it in, love them both.

Well, if you want my opinion (which you probably don't!), if it makes you happy, DO IT! It is so fun to find a package on the doorstep and you definitely work hard enough all day that you deserve some quilty treats!

I love the Fat Quarter Shop. I got some goodies from her a few weeks ago. Getting a package in the mail at the end of a long day is always a good thing. Sure beats the bills and junk mail.

Hear, hear as far as buying quilty things! I don't live alone but other than that we sound just alike. I get so much joy from being surrounded by my quilty things. None of them will go to waste - eventually someone will use them all. And it's so much fun to get that package. Today I got Jolly "somethings" from Fat Quarter Shop - 9" x 11" squares to match 4 of my jelly rolls. It's like Christmas every time a package comes!

I think we often forget this little bit of philosphy. If no one is homeless or hungry because of these purchases, why not? Why bother to work so hard and not be able to enjoy the results of all that work?

Oooohhhh, what a lovely bunch of goodies. I'd be very interested to hear your opinions on the two books you bought. Enjoy it all - you of all people, deserve it.
