Scraps

I'm about to get organized with my scraps. They're taking over the joint! At lunchtime today, I read through Bonnie's suggestions for organizing them, and I'm just going to do it!

Tonight I was looking through pictures from Road to California quilt shows past. I never take many pictures, just the quilts that truly inspire me for whatever reason. This one caught my eye again. I'm sorry but I don't know who the quiltmaker is. This was from Road 2004.

I don't know why it is that I'm drawn to teeny tiny piecing. Am I nuts? Don't answer that! Must be that I like giving my bifocals a full workout! This one I'm going to have to ponder a while.

It's so hot here - and to make matters worse, I think something must have died in the attic above the garage. Makes me gag when I walk out there. Ewwwww.......

Also I got my "This is Your Last Issue Unless You Act Now" copy of McCall's Quilting today. Everytime I think I'm going to let these subscriptions run out, they know exactly what to include in my very last issue. There's a blue and white quilt, "Honor Abides Here," that is so singing to me. It's real simple, and I can just imagine it on my bed. Something else to ponder. I've got a bolt of Kona Snow and a huge dark blue stash. Yep, pondering is already underway.

My gratitude today .... well, I guess it's that I get to go to work tomorrow and away from the stinky garage!

Hi Vicky, love the quilt from the Road Show...what a great scrap quilt...but soooo much sewing. Following of course...so much cutting.
It would be a beauty to own tho!!
Hope it cools off soon for you.

Yeah, but all of those teeny-tiny pieces make such a beautiful quilt once put together! ;o) I'm no help though...I'm stuck on 'em too.

Have a good day, Vicky!

I understand why you admired this quilt--tiny pieces and triangles! Wow! I am impressed.

I'm with you - I love little piecing! The more complicated the better. I don't have a clue why that is - I like simple blocks too. This quilt is a dandy for stash busting scraps, and a show stopper for sure. I say go for it!

Hi Vicky, That's a lovely quilt - DD has a picture book about cats and the little girl in the story has a quilt which is only pinwheels like that quilt. So pretty and what a great way to use up your scraps.

Hope you figure out what's smelling in the attic - LOL.

Here at lunchtime I'm still pondering this picture! I just noticed something .... I see in about the middle of the borders she put in an extra half pinwheel to make it size up. Ingenious! I'd probably throw in the towel if I got to that point and found out my borders wouldn't fit! This is such a great quilt! Hmmmm.......

Vicky, those teeny triangles look like something you'd like. I think you'd do a great job on that project! It's pretty.

I do the same thing with my subscriptions and as soon as I do let them expire, I end up buying them at the book store and paying more.

Wonder what's up with the smell?? Wonder how long it will take to go away. Good luck!

Still muggy here, but cooler cause it's overcast.
