My Life is SO Complicated!

I've been using that light sofa for almost three years. It was purchased for the formal living room in my home, and it's what I ended up with after the divorce. I vacuum that thing every week and spot clean it about once a month. But if I'm anywhere near it, I will spill something or drop something on it. It's like a dirt magnet.

So last weekend I thought it was time for a change. Since burgandy and navy blue are my favorite colors, and since I have these two dark blue leather wingback chairs, it was time to just do it. So I found one that I could live with and had it delivered Sunday. Oh, boy, I was so excited about doing some folk art decorating around that puppy.

Well, the best laid plans and all .......... I didn't even think to ask beforehand if the furniture store would haul away the old sofa. Nope. Sorry Charlie. I called a few places to come get it for free, along with some end tables and lamps that are in the garage. Nope. So I'm sitting here waiting to see if the guy I'm going to pay $125 to haul it away will show up.

In the meantime, I know everyone reading this is totally jealous that I've got two sofas sitting in my living room!

I'm all discombulated. I can't vacuum until everything is moved out. I had to move the chest away from the front of the old sofa, which means I had to empty all the hidden BOMs out of it. They're all piled on the dining room table. The wingback chairs are pushed into the dining room and breakfast room. Daisy has to crawl under things to get out of her kennel.

Man, this is the pits.

But he just called and he's on his way! Hooray! Things are looking up!!!!

I was going to tell you ~~ if the guy doesn't show up list it on freecycle...we have gotten rid of tons of stuff that way. Come and get it, you load, you haul.

Love your new sofa! We did basically the same thing, backwards..we have a beautiful new LIGHT colored sofa and the dark green DARK green sofa went out the door.

Gosh you would think Good Will or another Charity would have come and taken a sofa and lamps etc off your hands!

Glad you found someone to take it away for you :O)

I hope the old sofa is gone by the time you see this! I liked the old one but that new one looks real good and I can imagine how it looks with the two navy chairs! Good choice.

List it on craigslist... it will be gone FAST - someone would probably even pay YOU to get it!

That sounds like something I totally would do. Hey I should have had the fridge guys come over today and pick up your sofa while they were hauling away our dead fridge. LOL!!!

Love your new sofa! I think that as pretty as the old one is, I would probably be self-conscious and uncomfortable living with it. The new one looks like a great place to relax!

Why are we supposed to call Cowguy "Vicky" instead of "Jace"? Did he get some sort of castration-type operation? Kind of makes me think of a Boy Named Sue! ROFLOL! Hey, I gave you a "You Make My Day" Award--you can see what I'm talking about next time you stop by and visit my blog. I named Jace too--do you think he'll want to kill me for that? I'm kind of afraid to tell him! ROFLOL!

Love new furniture! Red and blue - perfect! I'm coming to visit - you sit on one end and I'll sit on the other and we'll stitch the day away. :-) OK????

Ooooh, it's NICE! My big couch is red, too :)

Hope the old one went away. We were selling Dave's bedroom set a few years ago, and while the people were here loading it into their truck, I talked them into taking my old couch too -- for their daughter's first apartment. More than one way to skin a cat!

Your new sofa is gorgeous! Love that color! I have made a rule never to have light-colored furniture in my home. We used to have a light blue couch, and that thing was dirty all the time! It was a total dirt magnet.
Out with the old (lovely as it is) and in with the new! It looks very comfy, too - Daisy should love it! LOL!

The new sofa looks great! I can't believe you couldn't find someone to come get it for free.

We just gave away ours to a young girl living here in our building. She's in her first apartment and didn't have anything but a bed.

Love the new sofa! What a fun and bright color. And some of the applique you've been doing will look great with it! I can't believe you couldn't get the Salvation Army or some other charity to come and take the stuff away though -- usually they will do that for free around here.

The more people sign up, the more stuff there is to get for free! I got a really nice couch this way last year.

I would have put up a sign somewhere - Free if you take it away!
