Although if I don't quit running the shredder, my common wall neighbor will call the cops! I shredded from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and I'm about two-thirds done. I'm getting rid of two file cabinets, and these are really old records from back in my court reporting days. That career ended over 20 years ago. Time to get rid of them, but I had to shred because there were employee W-2s, etc.
So far I have 11 huge garbage bags of shredded paper sitting in the garage. Both cans are full. The garbage truck comes at around 8:00 Thursday, so I'll just be standing at the garage door waiting for them. I have to tell you, this feels so good!
No pictures today. Sorry. I don't think piles of tubs and boxes or bags of trash would be very interesting.
Funny thing - I keep finding projects that are about 99.9% complete, so I designated one tub to put those in. My thought was those would be the first ones to get worked on in the other LA. Well, one tub has turned into two. What in the world was I thinking? I'm a gal on a mission, though, so I will do my best to do those first. Most of them anyway. My only excuse is that I got bored with them and wanted to start something new. I guess that's a widely accepted excuse among quilters, but it's my story and I'm sticking to it!
My back is screaming at me right now, so time to stretch out. I did that on the floor yesterday, and Penny didn't quite know what to make of it. She tried to lay next to me but then saw this humongous mound called Mommy, so it was more fun to get up on top! It wasn't fun trying to get up off the floor, though. I'm just glad no one was around with a video camera!

I'm home alone this week so I've spent the past couple of days deep cleaning my sewing room.
You've been working so hard. Don't forget to rest.

My bank has shred days, oh how I love them. Bags and boxes in hand I arrive laden with paper and leave feeling so light and refreshed. Good luck with those 'almost finished' pieces, funny how we do that.
Our realtor has a shred day and there is a big truck you dump your paper into a garbage can and stand there watch it get shredded to tiny strings, its interesting! The town has this one day a year too, same process Maybe you can find something like this there????
take care of that back, rest! looking forward to seeing many of these quilts finished once you get settled in the other LA!

I too had a bit of a shred session yesterday. I hope you are doing OK...good idea to put the almost done projects together, so you can focus on what to finish. When is the big move??
Ugh! I so need to do that. We missed the shred day at realtor and our home shredder is toast so I have several bags/boxes hanging around taking up fabric storage space.
Our home shredder gets regular use, but I need to do a major purge like you're doing. I, too, have some ancient court reporter records that could go. I hang on to them for sentimental reasons, I guess. ;-)
I believe that some projects are started so they can be finished others started just to learn a technique or check out a color possibility. When you learn how or check the color then you are done and its not a UFO! (that's my story and I am sticking to it)
LOL I don't think I could stretch on the floor at all! Just the thought makes me giggle. How soon before you are moved? It will be fun to pull out and finish those quilts on the other side. Have a happy day!
Isn't shredding old stuff fun??!! It's a great way to clean stuff out forever, I love it. But mine is already done, now I need to tackle cleaning out my fabric cupboards to find those old UFOs. Someday!
Great to hear from you Vicky! Lie on the floor? The only way for me to get up from that position is to roll over, and use the knees, IF there is something close by to grab and hold onto. Not a pretty sight!! Glad to hear things are moving along. Before long, you'll be basking on the bayou.
