Guess the Contents

There's this unopened box sitting here from The Fat Quarter Shop. I remembered this weekend what is in it, and only one other person knows besides the folks at FQS. I guess that disqualifies them!

I thought it might be fun having a guessing contest! All you have to do is leave a comment with your guess and your name will go in the hat for a drawing. The winner of that drawing will get a P & B bundle of Morning Garden fabrics. One guess per person.

Penny didn't think that was good enough, so she insisted I add another layer of fun to this contest. She said that if anyone guesses EXACTLY what is in the box, the PERFECT guess, then they will win a $100 gift certificate from her to spend at The Fat Quarter Shop! It has to be exactly what's in the box. Not just a yard of fabric, but a yard of what fabric. Not just a bundle of fat quarters, but a bundle of what line. Not just a .... well, you get the drift. She's a sneaky little punk, isn't she? I told her this was coming out of her allowance, but she just wagged her tail and looked cute. I think she knows I'm wrapped around her little paw!

The drawing will be held on Sunday morning, 12/6/09, when I get up and have a cup of coffee. Well, let's say at 8 a.m. Pacific time. If I sleep past 8:00 don't call me because that's a rare occurrence and I must be tired! LOL.

I must be able to contact the winner or winners, so if your guess doesn't have a link to your blog, please leave an email address. Good luck, everyone!

I'm going to guess a bolt of Kona cotton, of the color "snow". (Probably because I'd really love to have one - ha!)

Kathryn said...

Evelyn took the words right out of my mouth. I also think it is a bolt of cloth, and would also pick Kona snow since that is what I would love to have delivered to my house. Kathie L. in Allentown

To look at how the box looks, I would say a bolt of something. Now just have to guess what is on it. I am guessing aged muslin

Carol said...

I'm guessing it's a bolt of something...looks like the size of a bolt.

well since the box was left unopened, I'm going to guess that you ordered the whole line of Moda Christmas Wrapping paper.

A bolt of Moda fabric Rouenneries. But darn I know you bought Wiscasset and Celebration..but I am going with Rouenneries

I'm going to guess a bolt of Moda muslin in natural.

I have to say, I adore your blog, both for the quilting and for Penny. If anyone ever tells you that you post too many pictures of the baby, ignore them - they're wrong. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful pictures of her with us. (We have 4 dogs & 5 cats ourselves.)

I'll guess four yards of cheddar prints (Butter Churn & Cheddar) by Judie Rothermel, and nineteen yards of Astor Manor by 3 Sisters. That doesn't look like enough to fill the box but that's my guess and I'm so glad that there was no poetry involved!

Hugs - Gail

Two FQ bundles..though which ones I have no clue, you got this too long ago for it to be Petite Maison, but I've seen the Rouenneries so it's not that one....Prim Rose Inn....and Wissicat.

I'm going to guess that it's a bolt of moda kona cotton in "milk"

I'm guessing a bolt of 108" backing fabric of Rouenneries in faded red. There, I've said it. Why you would need that much, I don't know, but I'm sticking to it.

Laura said...

I'm going to say a bolt of Mill House Inn. I have no idea why. ;-)

A bolt of Aged Muslin Cloth by Marcus Brothers Fabrics. :0)

I am going to say that in that box is some yummy Robin Pandolph Sumerset Cottage and some Minick and Simpson Wiscasset.

Oh wow, Vicki, you are so generous with your offers!! I check in on your blog every day and enjoy watching Penny's activities--pulling the ties on the fabric bundles was so cute! I am sure she was only "helping". My guess for the unopened box content is according to your November 8 post--"4 yards of cheddar prints" by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Brothers Fabrics and "19 yards of Astor Manor" by 3 Sisters for Moda Fabrics. Thank you for the chance to guess. Have a great week! Way to go organizing your studio. The shelves of fabric look great.

p.s. I don't have a blog but will be checking back.

I'm guessing two bolts of fabric, both kona cottons of two different neutrals. ???

Mmmmm now I seem to recall you ordering 20 yards of marcus Bros Aged Muslin....
Lovr your blog... hope you and Penny have a wonderful christmas !

Carolyn said...

I'm guessing it's Moda Fanfare gift wrap of the Antique Quilt sort! Please tell me I'm right! :o) Of course, whatever it is, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

May Britt said...

I guess it had to be something else than fabric, because if it had been fabric you would have opened it at once. So I guess it has to be batting or muslin.

Anonymous said...

I have to guess the Rouenneries kit...yep, that's my guess.

Sharon said...

I'm going to guess the Christmas wrapping paper! How fun! Thanks for sharing all your purchases throughout the year, I so enjoy your blog!

It looks like a long box, so I'm going to guess that it houses a bolt of fabric that is neutral in color, like Kona Cotton Snow.

Becky said...

I'm guessing a fat quarter bundle of Astor Manor fabric and yardage of the same line for backing fabric.
Fat Quarter Shop has such luscious fabric. Whatever you have in the box, it will be wonderful!

Mimi said...

one or two towers of fabric?

Julie @ Jaybird Quilts said...

based off of the shape.. its a bolt.. and knowing you its a bolt of aged muslin! ;-)

Leah Spencer said...

I'm going to guess it's 1 bolt (25 yards) of 44" wide Natural Moda Muslin SKU# 9915-12. How could you pass up the deal of paying a mere $3.99/yard?! :)

I just wish they sold black fabric for the same deal, I'd totally buy a bolt if I won the $100. ;)

Lori in South Dakota said...

Marcus brothers aged muslin. I "heard" somewhere you love it and hope it will be around forever.

Kim said...

I have to agree that looks like a bolt-sized box to me too. And since the only thing I like doing better than watching a good train wreck is reading the LA Quilter stash busting reports, I have to guess it's the Marcus Bros. Aged Muslin, 20 yards or more (because it's a much better deal that way!); and if I had to guess a color, I'd pick the tan, SKU# 3616-3616. BTW, Vicky, your word verification is getting kind of weird. I'll have to email you to tell you what it wants me to spell this time! Yep, you're bordering on "X-rated"! LOL!

My guess by the looks of the box is that it is filled with Antique Patchwork Quilt Gift Wrap
Fanfare Gift Wrap,Retro Christmas Trees on Green Gift Wrap, and Figgy Pudding gift wrap...What a great giveaway!!! thx!

Deb Upcycles said...

I'm going to say lots and lots of Moda charm squares, just because no ones said it yet.

Jocey said...

I would like to guess that it is The Wild Thing quilt donated by Camille for the Benson & Claire auction.

Bert said...

Hi Vicky. My guess: Sweet Rose kit/bundle

I'm guessing a bolt of oyster texture of rouenneries. No matter what it looks like a lovely big box of something great - have fun opening it!

I would have to agree with the theory of a bolt of the aged muslin.

Kimberly Jolly said...

I know what's in the box!!!! I don't think anyone will guess it!

Vicky said...

Sssshhhh........... :)

Anonymous said...

I'm going to say that its a bolt of Kona cotton, perhaps in the SNOW color?

Robin said...

I say it's a bolt or two of something -either aged muslin or Minick & Simpson fabric or Robyn Pandolph. Penny looks so cute sitting there! :) rnoel57@gmail.com

Cindy said...

I'm guessing it's NOT another four-legged freind like the cutie sitting behind the box protecting it. LOL

Camille said...

I tried, unsuccessfully, I might add, to get Kimberly to tell me what was in it, but no luck. Darn it! Good for nothin'.... (grumble grumble)

So I'm going to guess... a bolt of Millhouse Inn, and a bolt of Rouenneries? Impossible to tell really- too much great stuff over there!

Sherri said...

Is it some of that wrapping paper that looks like fabric..or actually whole bolts of fabric?

Vandy said...

It is a Moda tower of some kind. I will skip the prize and just take Dasiy instead. She would have a great time with my very spoiled little Jack Russel. Vandy

A bolt of aged muslin.

Darling Jill Quilts said...

OMG!!! It's so large!!! I think that it could be the bolt of muslin and some yardage pieces from another line... Or maybe a block of the month kit.

There are just too many possibilities!!!

Carol said...

I'm going to guess a whole bolt of Marcus Brothers Aged Muslin, beige.

Anonymous said...

I vote on The Vintage Memories Block of The Month - the backing and all the pattern sets and all the fabrics cause you can't wait to get it from month to month.
Whatever it is, I'm sure it's wonderful and can't wait to see what it is!

Hugs,
TJ (newlapp@pa.net)
